[there is a Lucy on the Plane. she's standing near the desk her little!self had brought, idly flipping through the pages of one of her maths texts, her expression flat. is she upset? sad? indifferent? who knows. but she is looking. and, after a moment, she turns to the eight-track player, almost hitting 'play' but pulling her hand away instead.

finally, she takes a seat in the chair, which is a bit small for her, but she doesn't seem to mind, and pulls out another book on the desk. those with good eyes will notice it's a little girl's diary. that brings a smile to Lucy's face and she tucks it away into a handbag before standing.

and just so you all know? she remembers her experiment. all of it. have fun with that]

[forced smirk] Still haven't answered the question, when was the last time, before or after?

[he opens his mouth as if to say something, then seem to think better of it. A few seconds pass.]

I don't know. Sorry, I suppose I should go.

[beat]

I'd still keep all that though, plenty of room on the TARDIS. You don't need to use it to keep it.

[laughs, but it's an empty sound]

Of course you should. You got what you came for, didn't you?

[doesn't look at him, running her hands across the desk's surface, though she clearly isn't really thinking about it]

No, I don't. It's still mine, even if it has no use for me. Mine. It's mine. He'll always be-- [draws a shuddering breath, trying to make herself presentable again very suddenly] Are you still here?

[awkwardly] Yeah, right of course I should -- [hesitates] You're all right?

[snaps] I'm fine, you annoying fool.

Fine. Good. Perfect, course you are! Don't even know why I asked.

Well that makes two of us.

Right, well I'd never say it's good we're in agreement, but it is something,very likely not good I'm sure.

But you seem very busy, so I suppose I'll leave you to sorting this all out.

[awkward for another moment, as if he might say something else, then drops]
