[Kate is dressed in jeans and a tanktop, methodically placing large, robust training dummies in a circle; when she has about five of them, she stands in the middle and takes a deep breath

then she's a whirlwind of punches and kicks, and after about fifteen minutes of this, the dummies are pretty much demolished

Kate stands in the centre, skin shining with sweat and chest heaving; there's an all but feral grin on her face]

Guess I need to get new ones.

[Whoa, Brigitta likes this woman, so she'll be clapping and grinning!] That was great, a joy to watch.

[her eyes widen, and the smile turns sheepish] Um, thanks.

[She laughs slightly] Oh, sorry, didn't mean to embarrass you or anything.

[the smile widens, and she shakes her head] No, it's fine. I just didn't expect...anyone to watch. Silly, I guess.

Well, I understand that, it's easy to get caught up when practicing.

[Juni is also around, and shall be watching with faintly wide eyes but otherwise not showing much emotion] ...Been practicing for long?

[slight shrug; her breathing is already returning to normal] Not as much as I should, really.

Well, you seemed to manage that fairly easily.

I have bit of an advantage.

Really? What would that be?

[watches arms crossed and grinning impressed]

Remind me to stay on your good side, yeah.

[hoarse laugh]

Not that hard, really. I usually save that for blood-thirsty demons.

[laughs as well]

Not a blood thirsty demon last I looked. Good thing for me too, seeing's how you took care of them.

You didn't seem like one. ...Not that that almost means anything.

I used to just blow 'em up.

Yeah, tell me about it. Seen enough aliens walking around looking like humans to know how tricky that can be.

Don't like blowing things up anymore?

You've met aliens? I'd heard there were more around here. [and then, earnestly shakes her head] Nah - it causes more collateral damage, though, and now that I can do this...

Might wanna look into more durable ones while you're at it. Don't think it's a good thing if they break that quickly.

No kidding. ...To be fair, I don't think they had super strength in mind when they made them.

Oh, now it makes a little bit more sense.

I think one or two still have a little fight left in them. [Just for the hell of it Ace punches the nearest dummy. She has nowhere near the elegance of Kate's moves but she has enough power to knock it over.]

Feels good, doesn't it?
