[Emil appears on the Plane, and he's not alone. With him is what appears to be a cross between a hyena and a wolf. It looks a bit wild, but well cared-for, evident from its glossy fur and the giant pot of stew it's devouring. He sighs and starts eating from his own (much smaller) bowl.]

This search is exhausting...

[The wolf nuzzles Emil as thanks, and he blinks at it, then gently pets its nose.] Um... Y-you're welcome.

Mu! Um... no, he's not a pet. This is Wolf, my second monster. [Wolf seems very well behaved, at least; he looks up from eating to glance at Mu and sniff the air, then... goes back to his food.]

He's just happy I made dinner instead of Marta. [He smiles faintly.] Yeah, he'll fight for me if we're in danger, and he can help me make pacts with other monsters if they're compatible.

Does Marta not cook with him in mind? [Or is Emil THAT BAD of a cook, Mu wonders.]

That could be useful. And I suppose he's a good companion in the meantime?

N-no, she just... [a pause] She likes to put things in it that no one likes.

[He nods.] He might eat a lot, but he's a dependable fighter.

[Oh so SHE'S the bad cook] I see. I suppose you take turns cooking then?

[Mu smiles a bit at that and nods, but interestingly enough, he doesn't draw as close as he normally does]

Sometimes. I'm trying to teach her how, but it's hard, since I'm afraid of offending her.

[That's kind of sad. Emil notes that, but he's so confused... Why would Mu be avoiding him? Is it because of Ratatosk...?]

There are ways to be firm without being offensive.

[He seems to notice the emotions that play in Emil's eyes and he does walk a bit closer, though he moves to the Opposite side of Wolf.]

[Emil stiffens. Wolf growls lowly and his hackles rise, but doesn't approach the Master.]

... He's not a dog. Wolf, calm down.

[... And just like that, Wolf settles, but he's still watching the Master closely.]

[Wolf growls much in the same manner that he growled at the Master, but Emil quietly gives an order, and Wolf obeys. He settles down on his front paws and watches Crane.]

Ah, hi again. Y-yeah, this is one of the monsters we have a pact with.

He seems to listen to your commands quite readily.

That's because he's bound to me. But if I violate the pact, he can leave... not that I know how, or want to.

Um... well, first, we have to prove our strength by fighting them. And then the monster has to decide. Having other monsters talk to it helps. If it says no, then sometimes it leaves a present.
