[HELLO PLANE! There's some rather pretty music floating around on the plane. It's slightly bluesy, slow-paced and melodic, and it's coming from an acoustic guitar currently cradled in the lap of one (1) Dorothy Gale, lounging in a lawn chair. There's a half-drunk bottle of beer sitting on the floor by the chair's leg, but she doesn't seem at all drunk, just relaxed, sitting back comfortably with one ankle resting on her other blue jean-clad knee.
Apparently she's in a pretty good mood, which is a change from the other day. Why don't you come bug her about it, huh?? HUH???]

I play a lotta things. Why's that so hard to believe?

[drops down, cross-legged near her] So. Go on, then. Play me something by the Beatles.
no subject
[smiling, she tweaks her tuning a little and starts playing "Here Comes The Sun", deftly and with enough care and delicacy to show that she's played this one quite often]
no subject
Brilliant. [vanishes for half a second and returns with some lemonade for himself]

When she sings, it's quietly and sort of shy-- apparently she's not as proud of her vocal abilities as she is of her guitar skills, but she stays on key, and there's something to be said about the emotion in it.]
Little darlin', it's been a long, cold, lonely winter
Little darlin', it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, Doo'do Doo Doo...
Here comes the sun, I say...
It's all right...
[She hums a little for the lyrics she can't remember, but generally does a lovely job with ol' George's masterpiece. After the last few notes fade out, she gives a little mock bow, bends down to pick up her bottle of beer and has a swig from it. Hey, she earned it.]

Not really. 'S more intuitive than anything else. You can't play?

[and she plays a little flair of a riff without looking. Okay, THAT'S showing off.]
no subject
Oh, now you're just showing off!
no subject
Maybe. But hey, if I can do it, that just proves how easy it is, right?
no subject
That's very pretty.
no subject
Thank you. Want me to play something for you?

[And it's sort of creepy.]
no subject
That's probably a bit creepy too. At least the scary vampire is smiling?]

[That's a compliment, honest.]

For the record, she's playing the White Stripes' "300 Mile Per Hour Outpour Blues". It's a very rainy, calm sort of melody. Something the TARDIS might appreciate.]

Do you know this one?

I see you're adept at more than just folding clothes, then.
no subject
Well, thank you, Ma'am. It's really just a hobby.
[pause]
Is there anything you'd like me to play for you? I'm in a mood to share.
no subject
[smiles and takes a seat] Are you familiar with the Beatles at all? Maybe something by them?
no subject
Popular request.
[she tunes a bit and switches into "I'll Follow The Sun", singing along a little quietly but accurately]
One day you'll look to see I've gone,
For tomorrow may rain,
So, I'll follow the sun...
Some day you'll know I was the one,
But tomorrow may rain,
So, I'll follow the sun...
And now the time has come,
And, my love, I must go,
And though I lose a friend,
In the end you will know, oh...
One day you'll find that I have gone,
But tomorrow may rain,
So, I'll follow the sun...
[This certainly isn't meta at all. No sirree.]

[listens quietly, humming along a bit off-key and under her breath, tapping her fingers in time to the song on her jaw]
You're quite good, you know.
[you meta whore :D]
no subject
Aw, no, I'm not that good. I've just been doing it so long, is all. After awhile the notes just come outta your fingers without you even havin' to think about it. But thank you very much, all the same!
[strumming away absently, la la]
Yeah. Though it's not 'zactly surprising. They're the Beatles, after all. Though I didn't know aliens were fans of theirs too! Learn somethin' new every day.
no subject
[though this next bit has her eye twitching a mite]
Really now? Aliens do have a habit of surprising us, don't they?
