So. Out of curiosity, exactly how long am I supposed to remain parked there?

It's a nice station, don't get me wrong. But I've never been one for settling down.

[Grinning,] But this is good. I've been looking for one of the Doctors.

It does.

[and a grin in return] And now you've found one.

[Smile fades just a little.] I wanted to ask you something. About the Masters.

How does their hypnosis work?

[now he's got the Doctor's full attention]

Difficult to explain in a way you'd understand. How much of it have you seen?

None of it directly. But I know he's used it on at least one person and forced them to murder people. All I know is that he's capable of it--I just don't know what kind it is, or how powerful it is.

Then I'll say this. The Master has one of the strongest minds of anyone I've ever met.

If you think he's done something? You come and tell me. Don't try dealing with it alone, you'll just give him another pawn.

[Studies him for a moment.] You weren't here when the murders took place. And the other two Doctors couldn't stop them, either. [Pauses and smiles a little.] I'm not talking about fighting him. Just about preventing it from happening again.

[starts to say something and then stops] I never said fight. But containment isn't easy.

[Thinks about his own world.] I understand that. Just...any tips would help. To prevent hypnosis or escape it, if it's possible.

Don't look him in the eyes.

[Nods.] Is that all?

Assuming you're an ordinary human, yeah.
