01. And now for something completely different
[The Doctor is smiling happily and humming a Beatles song to himself.] Ah, The Beatles. Earth has produced quite the preeminent collection of musicians, though few compare to The Beatles. Oh, but I can't forget Miles Davis and John Coltrane, now, can I? Different favorites for different genres. I couldn't very well compare a rock 'n' roll band to jazz luminaries, it's hardly an even playing field. So to speak.
[Glancing at the food and drink he's precariously balancing in his hands, the Doctor ponders what he's currently holding.] I don't have the affinity for bacon sandwiches that Ace does, but chips are rather nice on occasion, and I must say, I do enjoy these chocolate malts. Far more delicious than carrot juice.
[At last, he realizes he's not on a street, or anywhere near Harry's Café, the place he only just left. It's hard to determine when exactly the scenery changed, but this is most certainly not where he's supposed to be. It's different, and he supposes it should be disconcerting, but with no sign of an immediate threat, he allows himself a moment to appreciate the view.] Well, this is peculiar.

[nods]
When I am able. It is helpful that Time does not pass here, though it makes for an unnatural quirk in my systems.
no subject
[And if that is the case, it would be dangerous to inquire too much about her current point in time, so he treads carefully]
Then in your current time, are you with me, or another regeneration?
no subject
[smiles sadly and shakes her head]
I am with your Eighth, currently. You left me some time ago.
no subject
Ah, I see. Well, we are accustomed to that by now, aren't we, old girl? Without the ability to regenerate, my current self wouldn't exist at all. I do hope it wasn't too...traumatic for you, however. You weren't harmed in any way?
Have you been well in this...nexus point?
no subject
[looks away, considering the stars] As well as can be. There are those I dislike [hi Diva!], but I am capable enough. You will be careful here, will you not?
no subject
[He chuckles quietly then] You, TARDIS? You would dislike someone? Oddly enough, I can believe that.
I'm always careful, as you know. There's no reason I won't be careful here, either. Are there many dangers?
no subject
[still, she cannot help smile at him, even as the conversation turns toward the dark and painful things the Plane offers]
There are enough. Vampires, demons, pasts and presents colliding in ways that are unnatural. There is a Fact, as well, one whom I have difficulty coming to terms with. The universes also appear to be unstable, meshing with others in unpredictable ways.
no subject
[Pauses, thinking] Yes, it would seem to be the foundation for chaos. It's possible, even, that the timeline I'm following has diverged from the one you're familiar with.
[Frowning] Nothing has harmed you here, has it?
no subject
It has remained relatively quiet, save for a handful of disruptions by the Twins and those here. The Masters, in particular, though there are others.
[and his question causes her to swallow and look away] It has, but it is nothing I am incapable of handling.
no subject
Masters? There are multiples here? And the Twins, would I be right in presuming they have some influence over this place?
[Concerned, the Doctor tilts his head and probes softly] You are capable of handling anything, just as I am, but you are not impervious to pain. Someone here harmed you, or this place itself?
no subject
[nods] Just as there are multiples of you. The Twins have yet to fully explain themselves, but they do appear to at least hold sway over those in this place.
[awww, the Doctor is concerned! it makes her happy] The vampire, Diva. She caused me harm, yes.
no subject
[His concern will linger, so she should be very happy indeed! Much frowning]
How long ago did this occur? And what sort of injury did she inflict upon you, TARDIS?
no subject
[it's hard to keep teasing when he asks her about this, but she's grateful she can even talk about it, since before she couldn't] It was some time ago. Perhaps a few months as humans measure. But she dislocated my limbs and forced herself on me.
no subject
Tell me that this creature was punished for harming you. She did not escape retribution, did she?
no subject
Your Tenth has told me to keep my distance from her. He said he would speak with her. [frowns] She apologised, but I do not believe her capable of remorse.
no subject
embraced the Dark Sideconsidered the depths of his darker nature, however, so he brushes any surprise aside]And she hasn't approached you again since that incident, has she?
no subject
well hurry up all ready]Not since her apology, no. We have kept well away from one another.
no subject
he needs a red lightsaber first]Were you alone while you healed? My other incarnations were a comfort to you after the ordeal, I would hope.
[Troubled]
Perhaps I should speak with her as well.
no subject
well hurry up]For the most part. And they have, now that I am able to tell them.
[tilts her head]
You would?
no subject
that would be pretty cool, stop encouraging me!]TARDIS... [He pauses, careful how he asks] ...why were you reluctant to tell me, my other selves?
[Oh, TARDIS, you realize you are an encouraging an epic smackdown!]
I desire it, actually. You would like me to as well?
no subject
NEVAR! the encouragement shall continue until morale improves!]It was not reluctance. I was unable to. I assume it was interference on the Twins' behalf for the vampire, but I am uncertain.
[and this is bad why...?]
I have no aversion to you doing so, no.
no subject
You're just hoping the TARDIS will get a blue lightsaber out of this]Ah, I see. How very odd. Why would they seem to favour her?
[It's bad for the recipient, but fun for all of us!]
Then how might I find her?
no subject
Shush, or others will know my secret]I do not believe it a favour, so much as a request with a price paid. They can do many things, so long as one is willing to give in return.
[it's the only way to be, really!]
She is small, dark-haired. She is often wearing upper class human clothing and has a verbal tic toward saying 'ne.' She is never long off the Plane, so I am certain you will find her.
no subject
[if the Doctor had known the TARDIS enjoyed seeing his darker side, he wouldn't try to quell it so much]
I'll leave you now, and search for her.
no subject
[she's been with Eight recently. it's inevitable she'd wanna see it]
Take care, Doctor. I trust you will be well.
