[Muttering under his breath and looking rather frustrated as he paces quickly with both eyes closed. Suddenly, something seems off and he opens one, pausing to look around and making a 'hmph' sound]

Well. That's about the extent of what we've learned so far. The people running it aren't exactly forthcoming.

No details regarding this so-called 'experiment'? Then I assume you only know of it because they told you it was happening.

Being correct in that assumption, it would mean that we learn of the details only when they choose to disclose the information to us.

Exactly. They don't like to answer direct questions.

[Pause. Is a bit off-put by the newcomer's almost clinical way of talking. Hei is starting to wonder if perhaps this guy is a Contractor.]

[Vague smile.] Nice to meet you, I suppose. I'm Li Shengshun.

[Dismissive shrug] I can't say I approve of it being performed on myself, but it is an essential aspect of experimentation.

I have many interests, and few of which I don't study. There's no need to focus on only one area.

No, I suppose not. I was just wondering if there was anything you were particularly interested in. [Hei is wondering if he's going to need to start avoiding this guy.]

Both literally and metaphorically.

[Frowning a little. Hei might be somewhat intrigued.] An interesting subject, I suppose...have you made any conclusions yet?

Hmph, "interesting"... I would have to agree.

Unfortunately, I have managed to draw very few viable conclusions thus far. It's a more recent topic of study.

Heh, well...the heart is always pretty interesting.

[Pauses for a moment.] That coat looks rather familiar...

Very. One could only hope.

[Raises an eyebrow- this isn't the first mention of his coat looking familiar, perhaps there HAVE been others--]

[Notices the look and decides to explain.] Red hair, called himself Axel. But I haven't seen him in a long time. He might have managed to escape...

[And that merits a sudden sharp glance but no further comment]

I take it you know him?

[Practically grunted] I do.

Well, if you see him back in your world, be careful about asking him about the Plane. It might be that the Axel who was here is actually from another version of your reality. The one in your world might have never actually come here.

I have no intention of mentioning it to him, alternate version or not.

[Nods slowly.] I see.
