8.

[On the Plane appears Jolyne running at a rather fast pace, clutching a small, somewhat disgruntled dog by the scruff of its neck. Along with this unusual sight is a large mess of sand beneath Jolyne's feet - apparently she's just been in a desert?

At the sudden change of scenery, however, she slows to a walk, then a stop, and lifts the dog to eye level.]

Alright, you. You're going to cooperate with me, or you're never seeing another piece of gum again.

(experiment start!)

I don't think I've ever heard that threat before, and I've heard and uttered a great number of threats in my millennium or so of experience.

...Training issues? [Notes the sand.] In the desert?

[identity profile] harmonixerdemon.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Dogs like gum? [This is news to him]

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, well, a bit like truffle hunting. What sort of 'thing' exactly is he trying to help you find?

[identity profile] harmonixerdemon.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Well he's seen stranger things] First time I've heard of something like that.

What's with all the sand?

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a dog, and you're threatening it with bubblegum.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The subject of the threat is still what it is.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That does sound like it's dangerous. Do these 'stands' need a source to pull from? If it's water-based in a desert, you might be able to use that.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
I've come to believe your universe is completely mad.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
So it's acting independently, like a sort of familiar. But the user is in one location?

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I try to avoid vulgarisms... sometimes--but the meaning is essentially accurate.

May I ask why you're threatening this dog?

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would it want your hair?

May I see it?

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose given the way you're talking to that dog, it isn't going very well at the moment.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, well, rather strong. I hope your friend will keep his eyesight, though. I'd offer to help but I wouldn't know how to trace a Stand even if I could come there.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless he starts making jokes about my Loom-tender, I think I'll be fine.

[takes the dog, then pulls]

You realise that I'm entirely capable of dissecting it and extracting whatever capacities it may possess? I could translate them into a simple code and voila! No need for a dog. And I've always loved vivisection sans anaesthetic.

Of course, I could go with the good old Dalek method of putting a brain-drain over its head and drawing the information out. Remarkably useful. I remember back in the days of the mind probe, we used to do that all the time. Then Romana had to ban it because she has principles. I don't, and I've heard enough shouts of, 'No, not the mind probe!' to know that it hurts a very great deal.

It's hard to scare a thing into obedience when you say its life is invaluable out loud.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[sighs]

Then take it back.
