{Diva is lounging quite comfortably on a couch she's brought to the Plane, wearing very little. Propped against her knees is the The Poetical Works of Lord Byron that Sam has given her. She's also brought a few magazines, one of which seems to have a picture of her on the cover, but it's mostly obscured by a knife that she's been meaning to return.

But in the meantime, she reads aloud, occasionally stammering over a word or two.}

I had a dream, which was not all a dream.
The bright sun was extinguish'd, and the stars
Did wander darkling in the eternal space,
Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth
Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air;
Morn came and went--and came, and brought no day,
And men forgot their passions in the dread

Were chill'd into a selfish prayer for light...

{But after that bit, she stops, smiling brightly}

Ne, that sounds like the Plane, doesn't it? Well, maybe not so much the last part, but I bet some people here would think that anyways. I can't, though. It's too nice here. Still, how lovely! Did Lord Byron get to come to this place, I wonder?

{She shakes her head though, laughing} Ne, it wouldn't really surprise me. There isn't too much about this place that surprises me anymore. But it'd be nice to actually meet him! I really do love his poems.

{But the thought is soon dismissed, and she reads the rest of the poem quietly.}

That church?

There are a load of smart people. There are just some real idiots, too. Some just get to go because their families have cash to throw around.

As part of that experiment~ For a little while in Italy, I was staying in a church as a nun, and that's where I ended up for the experiment.

Oh, so they don't really go to learn?

What era were you in Italy for?

Most go to learn, some go because their parent want them to, some go to get a good job, some go to have fun. Most go to learn, I think, but there are the exceptions.

Hm...I think it was 1910 or so? It was the end of the Great War, er...the first World War.

Why did you go, then?

Did you enjoy that, being a nun?

I went for the learning. [her tone gets lower, almost secretive] Can't deny I had a bit of fun in the process.

Oh no, it was terrible! I couldn't do anything. Which is why Sam got me these books. Just something to do.

Ne, really? What kind of fun~?

I'm sorry, it sounds awful.

[laughs]

Nothing too earth shattering. Just the usual sorts of trouble you get into in university. Parties and blokes and maybe some alcohol might have played a role.

Oh, are those the usual sorts? That doesn't sound too odd, then.

What sorts did you imagine?

I didn't imagine anything! I've never been to school.

Well, you seem to be as bright as most people I went to uni with. Would you have wanted to go to school?

Hm...I don't know, maybe. It seems like a lot of work, and I was never good at ciphering, especially.

It can be a load of work, some of it a little useless, but it can be a laugh, too. You might find you learn something new and meet a few mates in the process. I loved it, some of my favourite memories were in university.

...Really? What's your favorite memory, then? If that's not too personal for me to ask.

[laughs and blushes a little, but obliges]

Graduation day, jumping off this bridge into a weir. Bottle of wine in one hand.

[stops and laughs getting a little redder]

Wine in one hand, and [beat] bra in the other.

[ducks her head and laughs]

{Diva laughs with her}

That sounds really fun, though! Lucky you!

It was! My favourite memory ever, actually.

Really! That's quite the memory then.

{Thoughtfully} Ne, I think mine would be...

{A pause, them warmly} I think when Saya came to speak to me the first time, that was...so wonderful. Even though I was in the tower, then, there was nothing like that feeling that there was someone like me on the other side of that door.

[tilts her head, studying Diva and giving her a small smile]

It sounds lovely.

Who is Saya?

My sister.

It sounds like a wonderful memory.

Did you ever get a chance to meet her outside the tower? If I'm overstepping my bounds, you don't need to answer.

Oh yes! We met a few other times, but every time, sister was trying to kill me!

{because lol that is so normal}

Kill? As in kill and you're dead, or kill as in you think they're just a pain in the arse?

[this is an important distinction]

My sister and me have wanted to kill each other loads of times, but not actually kill kill.

Oh, no, kill as in "kill and you're dead". Saya is the only person that can kill me, for one thing. Her blood is poison to me, just like mine is poison to her. But mostly it's because...Well, Saya was raised as a human! She hates Chiropterans as much as any human, so she's wanted to kill me and herself for a long time, because we're "monsters". Isn't that funny?
