[As soon as he arrives on the Plane, George flicks a knife out of his boot and holds it ready. A Rogue doesn’t survive for very long without quick reactions, although he’s also willing to bet that most past Rogues don’t find themselves in … situations like this. He isn’t sure about the ‘where’ yet. Or the why.]

Well, now. I can’t say I like having me dinner disturbed by some lad – or lass – who got carried away with their sorcery.

This is no illusion. Or if it is, it’s the best one I’ve ever seen. Someone who can conjure up this isn’t likely to be wastin’ their time on cheap tricks.

I wonder what you want with the likes of me?

[He twirls his knife in a way that looks rather casual, but his eyes are sharp and focused.]

I’m not a patient man, an’ I’d like an explanation. If this is Corus – if that shop was in Corus – then I’m the Duke of Queenscove.
