[A scuffed up, slightly bloody Yuri appears on the Astral Plane. He looks around startled, then quickly falls into an attack stance, brining his claw-like weapons up in front of him.]

Okay, this kind of thing is seriously starting to tick me off. I hate being yanked around, and I have enough to deal with already, so if you want to try and kill me just come out and do it!

Not my style. I'd rather find the puppeteers and smash their faces in. It's quicker that way.

[Smiles broadly.] Heh. You're right. If only things were always that simple.

I'm Li Shengshun, by the way. May I ask your name?

It's Yuri, Yuri Hyuuga.

Ah, then am I right in thinking you're Japanese? I'm living in Tokyo, currently.

Half-Japanese and half-Russian actually. I've been to Tokyo, it's an okay place I guess.

[Smiles a little.] I have a certain attachment to it. It's a nice enough place...though I wish I'd been able to come here ten years ago.

[Pauses.] I don't suppose you're familiar with Hell's Gate, are you?

Haven't heard of it. Doesn't sound like something something I want to know about either.

[Mirthless chuckle.] Consider yourself lucky that you don't. I was only wondering, since in my world, Hell's Gate is in Tokyo. I've yet to meet anyone here from my world.

Don't think there's anyone from my world here either. Unless you have someone running around talking about red lights appearing in the sky or Rasputin trying to take over Russia.

[Chuckles,] Not that I've seen, but then, I haven't met everyone here.

How many people are here anyway?

[Looks up, calculating.] Something between 40 and 50 at this point. No two people from the same world, either.

Huh. So I probably won't see anyone from my world. Not the first time I've had to go it alone though..

[Small smile.] Same here. We all just deal with it, I suppose.

[You get a small smile in return] Deal with it and survive...I guess that's all we can do right now.

[Great minds...? :D]

I take it you're used to it?

Yeah. For a long time just surviving was enough for me.

[A long pause and a smile before he says, as if by rote,] Survival is the most important thing.

[Yuri gives him a look before looking away] It's one of the harder things sometimes though, right? Especially when you start wondering why you even want to survive.

Surviving is always hard. [Looks away as well, thinking of his own world. But then he turns back to Yuri and smiles.] But certain things make it worth it, right?

[Looks up at the what passes for the sky]Yeah. But if you loose what makes surviving worth it....things get hard.

[Follows his gaze, thinking of the stars.] And it's not always easy to find something else that makes everything worth it. Some things can't be replaced. [Shakes himself out to try and get rid of the emo--unsuccessfully.]

[Yuri's feeling rather emo too...he glances over in understanding] And after that reason is gone, you know you have to survive but your not sure you even want to anymore.

[Hei doesn't speak, but he slowly nods.]
