[Naminé appears on the plane, a sketchbook in one hand and a pencil in the other. She looks around slowly for a corner, chair, location... well, anywhere, really... that she can occupy without being in the way. Settling on a spot beneath a tree on the very edge of the forest, she takes a seat.

For a few moments, she just stares at a blank page. Then, a small smile begins to tug at the corner of her mouth, and she lets her pencil go to work.]

[She laughs, smiling.] What's your name?

Pino is Pino! Pino... [She hesitates and tilts her head.] Pino likes coloring.

Pino likes... coloring? [Naminé thinks for a moment... and then holds up one finger - a gesture for Pino to wait just a moment. She flips to a new page, sketches a slightly cartoonish scene with a lighthouse overlooking the sea with a few little clouds in the sky, and hands Pino the sketchbook.]

You can color that... [She disappears from the Plane. An instant later, she reappears with crayons.] Use these!

[Pino is ecstatic at this prospect! Except that once Naminé hands her the sketchbook, she just stares at it. She's never actually had something to just color in before, and really has no idea what to do with it.]

Hmm? Is something wrong? [Headtilt]

What should Pino do?

[Naminé picks up a blue crayon and lightly begins shading in the ocean. After a few strokes, she hands the crayon to Pino.] Stay within the lines, and make everything whatever color you want. Just like that.

...Whatever color I want? ...But what colors does Pino want?

[Naminé has to think about that one for a minute. How can someone not know what colors they want to use? She shakes her head, picks up the box of crayons, and holds it out to Pino.]

Well, I guess... which of these do you think is the prettiest?

The prettiest? Which are the prettiest?

Umm... Well, do you have a favorite color?

[usagipino]

...Pino doesn't know.

[This is getting harder... How can someone not know if they have a favorite color? Completely at a loss, she chews on her lower lip as she tries to think of a solution...]

What if... [She gets out the red crayon and places it in Pino's hand. She then puts her hand on top and uses it to guide Pino in shading in the lighthouse stripes red. She smiles a bit.] See? Coloring.

Oh! This is different than the coloring Pino does! [She fills in the rest of the stripes red, keeping very, very carefully exactly inside the lines.] Like this?

[She smiles again. At least that worked!]

Oh? What kind of coloring do you usually do?

Pino colors with Timothy. Only Timothy is dead now which means Pino can't see him anymore. But Timothy said to draw and color what Pino wants to, so Pino does that.

Oh! I guess that makes sense. I'm sorry Timothy is dead, though... I bet he was a great person.

Mm. Pino...Pino misses him... [She sounds unsure about this statement.]

[Naminé catches the tone, but decides it probably isn't her place to ask... Instead...] Were you close to him?

Mm! Timothy is Pino's friend.
