[Have a Handy humming to himself in the kitchen as he goes about getting ingredients out of pantries and the refrigerator.  After speaking with Ray and Chris earlier, he is almost certain he knows how to make pancakes.  He has never actually done this, however.  He figures now would be as good a time as any to distract himself by testing out this assumption]

[that's stupid! Sam's face says so] No. But I have a duty to protect the people of the Plane. Don't want a pancake disaster, do we?

Right, because that inspires confidence and makes me feel entirely at ease. Negative thinking inspire negative results. You're basically willing me to fail.

Look, I've just dropped pizza dough on my own face before. It's an uncomfortable experience and I didn't want you to go through with it. I thought you were a beginning cook, and that it'd be a better idea to start off with something easier.

[he's not sure if he feels better or worse knowing this is the person who doubted his skills. either way, he is now going to stare at you and talk very slowly]

And because I like it, it would be a brilliant thing to be able to make. In a kitchen. Which holds the necessary supplies.

Or you could maybe show me how I would go about doing that since you'll [he bites his tongue and leaves out the hopefully he really wants to say here, despite how exasperating he finds you at the moment, Sam] most likely not be around whenever I'm in a kitchen or in need of food.

[forget an apology; Sam's going to get instructive!] We need flour, then. We could add some spices to the dough, but it's best we don't. Flour, water, olive oil, some salt, we'll need yeast...

[Sam starts grabbing up the proper utensils, then looks at Handy]
