[001]

[Turlough arrives on the plane sans jacket and suddenly looking very startled. Of course, unusual things are commonplace when you travel with the Doctor, so he's not looking quite as worried as he probably should -- he's more irritated, actually. He pauses for a moment, then does a a complete circle, looking for someone -- or something -- even remotely familiar.]

Oh, hell. I swear, if we've bloody stepped sideways in time again, you and I, Doctor, are going to have words. I thought we were supposed to be going somewhere warm -- you know, without refugees or volcanoes or murderous natives?

[looking around the Plane with a frown]

Doctor? Peri?

...Brilliant. This doesn't look like a room in the TARDIS, and we certainly haven't landed anywhere.

[He pauses for a long moment, suddenly aware that this could be the Black Guardian's doing -- the White Guardian had said he'd be back, and angry over his previous defeat. If he'd been strong enough to contact him before, then he could be strong enough to pull something like this. Or perhaps he was unconscious again... ]

Right, if the Black Guardian's doing this, you can go ahead and sod off. You won't be getting my help, and you won't be getting the Doctor. You've lost.

That I've hacked into Matrix records and watch your adventures in my spare time for entertainment?

That's only partially true, for the record. And if you stick around, you'll thank me for it later.

Because it will save your precious Doctor from yet another unfair sentencing, courtesy of the Time Lords.

Because he takes 'self-loathing' to incredible new levels.

Yes, and from Goth, and then they made Goth into a hero tragically killed trying to stop me. Did you fail to notice how fickle and treacherous we are?

[The Master's smile is absolutely devious]

Not quite the same, but the tone carries it off. Yes, I am the Master. Well done.

No, but there was a nasty run in with a Teralan which ended up with me getting a new, very true-to-life doll. Ahh, I remember when I used to give those children shrunken ambassadors. Greatest good those idiots had ever done for anyone on their planet, in my opinion.

That's women for you! Entirely unreliable. Never trust in the affections of one for a moment.

[The Master refuses to admit how much he hates remembering that. And many other things that happened to him when he was in that body, really]

Good! I hear it happens. A bit of an accident with the TARDIS, or an evil Time Lord with a Tissue Compression Eliminator, all these causes and more could put you in that situation, and it's quite good to be prepared.

Yes, I had mercy and decided to let you all get used to that coat of his. Sadly, I ended up condemning Miss Brown to adopting his fashion sense.

And keep an eye out for the cat pins.
