...is there any particular reason I awoke this morning with a cheetah beside me and the Doctor nowhere to be seen?

More to the matter: why are they calling me 'Master?'

[crosses her arms] I don't want him living in me. End of story.

I can't exactly kick him out.

You can't? Or you won't?

Both. He isn't doing anything to you, though. Existing, basically, and that's about all.

That's more than enough. [she's really not happy about this, Doctor] Why must you constantly ignore what I say and think and want?

[rubs his neck] Well, how would you solve this? [pauses] Without killing the Master. Or tossing him into the ocean. Or outer space. Or abandoning him in a different era. Or anything like that.

...there are options outside those? [frowns, turning away] I don't...I don't know, Doctor. But just thinking about what he will do to me -- what he did to the me that is with you -- and knowing you allow him to continue to live inside me, I...!

[softly] I'm sorry. I don't know. [runs a hand through his hair] There's not a whole lot I can do to change the situation.

[keeps her back to him a long time, then sighs, body going lax, and finally turns to face him again, reaching out to stroke his cheek] I'm sorry, Doctor. I know you're doing your best. It is...unfair...of me, to make you choose like this.

[meets her eyes, relaxing just slightly] Sorry to put you in this situation, old girl.

...I know, Doctor. It is...hard, for me. So hard. I do not have to deal with these choices, not in my reality, not now. And to think, my future self must handle these issues when she's all ready injured and in need of such repair. But you are, as well, aren't you? In need of repair. [keeps stroking his cheek] My poor, broken Doctor...I wish that I could make you whole.

[looks a bit surprised but sad, eyes softening at her touch] I'm all right. [pauses, because the TARDIS knows when he's lying] I'm managing.

Not well, though. [strokes his face gently] Is there nothing I can do? Any comfort I can bring? [smiles softly] This body...I chose it specifically, Doctor. Do you sense anything from it? Anything familiar?

[looks at her for a minute, brow furrowing, before his eyes widen] You... [presses a hand to her chest and laughs] Two!

[nods, smiling warmly, and presses her hand to his, holding it to her chest] Did you think I would take any other form as my true self, Doctor? Your companions are fine for certain looks, but this is who I am, deep inside my heart. Don't you see? You are not alone, Doctor. You worry that there are no Time Lords, none of your own people, but...I am with you. Can't that be enough?

[smiles sadly and holds her hand, still pressing their hands to her chest] Not much has ever been enough for me, has it? Planets and traveling and people and stars and galaxies and time. But it's always enough as long as I can travel.

Doctor... [why yes, yes she did just move closer so she could press her cheek to his chest] Travelling with you has been the one constant happiness in my life. I cannot fathom a life without it. Which is why I worry, you must understand. If anything happened to you...

[brushes back some of her hair and shifts to hold her loosely] Mm, you'd die, too, old girl. I really don't want that but I'd be more worried about you out there on your own.

Life without you is hardly worth living, Doctor. [listens to his hearts, comforted, and nuzzles him affectionately] I doubt any other could treat me as you. I doubt any other...could garner such love as you have. You are everything to me, Doctor. You are mine...always and forever. My Doctor. My love.

[rests his chin on the top of her head, still holding her] I'll try to live up to those feelings.

Mmm...I know you will. [pauses, pulling back a little, then leans up and kisses him. not the gentle peck on the cheek, no, but a full kiss to the lips]

[is rather surprised by this, since he's more used to kisses on the cheek from her but kisses back before he even realizes he is. pulls back slightly, smiling in a gentle but amused way] Feeling any better, girl?

[has her eyes closed a moment, then sighs and looks at him, takes in his words, and laughs lightly. he is thick, her Doctor, but it's part of his charm] I am, thank you. You always did know how to make a girl feel comfortable, didn't you, Doctor? And yourself? I trust our tiff didn't upset you too greatly?

I'm glad. [shakes his head] Nah, no lasting damage. I think our bond is strong enough to handle a few tiffs.

[grins] Of course it is, Doctor. I am indestructable, after all.
