[Lucy's back in her bedroom on the Plane again, this time putting the last touches on a journal entry (don't worry, it's nothing incriminating maybe). she's been having a good time of it lately and could use a nice, quiet, happy day of social interaction before the shit hits the fan. she's also got a small bag of jelly babies sitting next to her that she pops in her mouth from time to time whilst writing. steal some at your own risk]

Does it call for it often?

Often enough, it would seem.

It sounds tedious.

Why do you say that?

I don't know, having to pretend you're less than what you are for other people's benefit, it sounds tedious.

[shrugs]

Or maybe that's just me.

[shakes her head] There's a certain finesse in being someone else, Doctor, in making the world see you in a specific way. It can be quite the thrilling game if you know how to play.

I suppose I don't know how to play it then, because it all seems like a waste of time and energy to me.

Your other half says much the same thing.

[laughs] Well, maybe I'm being too quick to rush to judgment, then.

That eager to be different from him, are you?

A few differences wouldn't hurt. He really has left plenty of room for improvement.

And how might he be improved, so you think?

He could try not wearing the same two suits constantly. He has an entire wardrobe at His disposal, yet He insists on wearing only two suits.

I've complained about that a great deal, myself. He did agree to wearing a tux, at least. [frowns] He never did get around to it...

He has a bad history with that tux. He should try getting a new one. He won't.

[shrugs]

He doesn't do a lot of things he should be doing, I've noticed.

What sort of things should he be doing?

[frowns faintly, idly twisting her wedding band] Ah, nothing important.

[frowns and looks away] I'm sure.

[clears his throat and gives a forced grin]

But what do you know, I think we actually managed to be civil to each other.

You're not nearly as terrible as I expected, either.

[I know! I mean, what would happen then?]

Mmm, thank you. [a cheeky smile] I still don't like you, though.

[their timing is brilliant for actually getting along]

[laughs] Don't worry, I can't stand you either.

[I know! after this, they might not be so happy]
