[Lucy's back in her bedroom on the Plane again, this time putting the last touches on a journal entry (don't worry, it's nothing incriminating maybe). she's been having a good time of it lately and could use a nice, quiet, happy day of social interaction before the shit hits the fan. she's also got a small bag of jelly babies sitting next to her that she pops in her mouth from time to time whilst writing. steal some at your own risk]

[Lucy doesn't say anything at first, letting that sink in. and then she remembers a conversation with the Doctor when he let slip he had a granddaughter and everything suddenly makes sense. this must obviously be the girl. she isn't quite what Lucy was expecting (read: she likes her). but there's no sense in alienating the girl, right? best to have friends across enemy lines, even if she is having an affair with one of the Doctors here]

Is that so? I don't believe he's ever mentioned you. Such a shame, a bright young thing like you. I'd think he'd be gushing. He obviously has no sense in his old age.

[Susan appears to be visibly deflated by that, but she isn't actually surprised. They all seemed shocked to see her when she first arrived on the Plane.]

I think he left me behind in a lot of universes. Maybe he doesn't like to talk about it.

[don't take everything Lucy says at face value, Susan. She's an accomplished liar]

Did he? How horrible! I'd certainly not want to leave such pleasant company behind for any reason.

[Poor Susan. She has no idea how much the Master has changed. She still trusts him, and, therefore, trusts his wife, too.

That comment makes Susan smile and flush a bit pink, but she does look uncertain.]

I'm sure he thought he was doing the right thing.

[I almost feel sorry for her, seeing as Lucy can be incredibly mean. like now. see how she tries turning you against your grandfather, Susan? don't listen to her! she's a dirty lying whore :O]

Mmm, he always does, doesn't he? Even when it hurts those he says he cares for.

[Oh, Susan adores her grandfather. It isn't that easy to turn her against him. But everything has to start somewhere...]

The right thing to do isn't always the easy thing. Time Lords aren't allowed to interfere.

No? He does an awful lot of interfering, then. Maybe he isn't as nosy when he's with you.

He changes with every regeneration, I think. So that could change with time as well.

That's possible. I've only had the, ah, honour of knowing one of him.

That might change in a place like this. Don't worry. I know he can be ... a little cold at times, but he's fine really.
