[So last time Handy saw the TARDIS she gave him Star's keysmash (a.k.a. the animal from the planet Osudbogs that snuck onto the TARDIS in her last post.  Due to Handy's faiure at naming things, it's stuck with its planet of origin as a name).  Here he is now, sitting on the floor of the Plane and absently watching the animal skittering around as it examines its surroundings]

Thesis and antithesis cannot coexist.

You are thesis; I am antithesis.

Therefore, we cannot coexist.

That is logic. But I want to coexist with you. I want you with me for all of eternity. So either I must change the universe, or I must change you. But even to change the universe, I'd have to change you so you would agree to that universal changing.

No, I wouldn't. I'm not stupid; I wouldn't give myself a universe that would be dull.

Of course. Happiness is not contentment. The universe is very very big. There is always something to change.

It has to end at some point though, and eternity is a long time. What are you going to do when it's all to your liking? Just tear it back down and start again?

Doctor, I'm a long-term planner. I'm not planning on that long a term. Perhaps I'll tear it down. Perhaps I'll look for a new dimension of existence. Perhaps I will alter myself. Perhaps I will then be pleased to be content, though I doubt it.
