Ne, I don't understand it at all...

{Diva is looking very fashionable in red today, wearing the hairstyle and clothing of a Victorian fashion, complete with all the equipment at her waist or in her hands for archery. She's nocking an arrow with a very practiced fluidity. There's no way she would be able to use the bow in her hands as a weapon, just for sport. To further accentuate that, a distance away is a rather beat-up looking target with a few arrows in it already, though very few are even on the target.}

I mean, it would make sense when I found that book, but now is such an odd time. I hadn't even been seeing the palace lately.

{She stops murmuring to herself for the moment, aiming and shooting the arrow, and much to her own surprise, gets fairly close to the center! This is surprising for her, since her aim was always pretty terrible.}

...Ah! I hit it!

{Diva smiles, quite pleased with herself, drawing another arrow out of the quiver to try again.}

((ooc: Experiment start for Diva! You can find the details here, but she's chillin' in her memories of Russia at the moment, basically.))

Ah! Well done! The bow and arrow does indeed take a lot of practice.

You look very elegant today, Diva~

I can't say I'm very good with it myself, either.

Hm? It's not?

...Ah, then...your reality has changed? You have gone back in time?

[identity profile] shinypaws.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
I see. This moving through time, it seems to happen to a lot of people around here.

But you are happy.

[She thinks on this for a moment.] What your Chevalier did to you, all those things--they were very wrong. I believe that in many ways, you were suffering, even if you did not know it. But you love them, and that love is undeniable, no matter its source or reason. That love is what one must act on. But it would do to tread carefully all the same. Love is a fickle and wild thing, liable to snap and bite.

[identity profile] shinypaws.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
[She smiles.] There are many different kinds of love. The love we have for one person will always be a little different form the love we have for a different person. There is nothing wrong with loving more than one person, even with loving more than one person romantically. Although at the end of the day, you must ask yourself who you truly want to be with.

But at the very least, the two of you can compromise, yes? And you can make do with the time that you do have.

[identity profile] shinypaws.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose it is, yes. But I am glad that you are happy, Diva.

[identity profile] shinypaws.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
I am sure it shall as well!

[identity profile] shinypaws.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I'm sure you will hit it every time with practice! Do you mind if I stay to watch?

[identity profile] shinypaws.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose it would be, wouldn't it? I always have to be careful myself.

[Settles in to watch.]

It is still surprising for even a Goddess to be doing one thing, and then suddenly be doing something else. And I do not believe you are a monster, Diva. Realistically, there will likely always be people who will believe that about you, just as there will always be people who believe wolves are nothing but ravenous beasts. I believe that a monster is someone or something who destroys and consumes for the pure delight of destroying. But people and animals and things, it is true that everything destroys, in one way or another. A vampire is no different in this. It is that you destroy human life that so concerns people. When an animal or a waterfall or a poisonous mushroom kills a person they call it monstrous and dangerous, isn't that right?

Destroying life is something that all mortals must do. It is terrible, but it is necessary. The important thing, then, is to understand what it is you are doing. To understand that you are taking a life, a life that will never exist again, whether it is the life of a tree or a rabbit or a human. And it is also important to give back in some way. As a way of giving thanks to the life you have taken. You see?

I am not too sure about that. Perhaps by honoring the dead. Perhaps by saying a few kind words to help the spirit move on. I think that that part you will need to figure out for yourself, Diva. Simply do whatever you think is best~
