[the Ninth Doctor appears in the astral plane just in time for his jaws to close on empty air] Well, that's... Hmm. [a confused pause, in which the Doctor is turning around in a complete circle and looking for a door or a hole or some other plausible explanation for how he got to where he's currently standing] Normally I'd suspect a wrong turn, but that's a bit difficult when you're sitting still with the parking brake on.

[he takes a few steps and then stops and bounces up and down in place] Solid enough. Good to know, 'cause I'd hate to... [trails off, frowning] No, that's enough playing along. Where's my TARDIS? Or, for that matter, my sandwich?

Look, if you're going to go to the trouble of beaming someone out of their own chair mid-meal, you could have the decency to show up. It's common courtesy.

[a silence that stretches for what seems like several minutes, but was probably just a few seconds] What, am I talking to myself here?

[shrugs] No idea. I've been trying to figure that one out since...since, well, since I got here.

[facepalm] Better and better.

And what about what the Master was doing poking about in the TARDIS?

[have even more awkwardness, Nine!] Ah. Right, well...he tried that 'taking over the world' bit again and I beat him, of course, reversed his damage, everything's fine and then I couldn't really...think of anything to do with him. So! I thought the safest place to store him would be the TARDIS.

Helpful hint: The doors do lock.

Well I did that for a while. Except then he'd do these suicide attempts. So now I've just locked all the important doors and put the controls on isomorphic. It's worked so far.

And the problem with him just offing himself?

Until I came here, he was the only other Time Lord. I thought I could save him. [frowns and looks at his other self] Don't tell me it wouldn't be nice if I could.

If, yes. But that's a big and unlikely if.

It's worth a try. To be honest, this is a nice break.
