[the Ninth Doctor appears in the astral plane just in time for his jaws to close on empty air] Well, that's... Hmm. [a confused pause, in which the Doctor is turning around in a complete circle and looking for a door or a hole or some other plausible explanation for how he got to where he's currently standing] Normally I'd suspect a wrong turn, but that's a bit difficult when you're sitting still with the parking brake on.

[he takes a few steps and then stops and bounces up and down in place] Solid enough. Good to know, 'cause I'd hate to... [trails off, frowning] No, that's enough playing along. Where's my TARDIS? Or, for that matter, my sandwich?

Look, if you're going to go to the trouble of beaming someone out of their own chair mid-meal, you could have the decency to show up. It's common courtesy.

[a silence that stretches for what seems like several minutes, but was probably just a few seconds] What, am I talking to myself here?

[makes a face] That's cheating. But yeah, I did. Mickey's not so dumb if you hand him a few instruction manuals and let him go for a bit.

[Amused] It's not cheating! And you went off with Mickey? The you I know insisted on calling him Rickey the Idiot.

[Laughs] No, I'm not jealous, really. I think you...well, not you, but y'know, you, were jealous of Mickey.

[huffy, there goes his ego] What would I be jealous of him for?

I guess I would. I'm gonna take a wild guess from your earlier reaction and say he's not around?

He's not, no. His, um, regeneration is--tall, skinny bloke in pinstripes with crazy hair, if you see him, that's how you end up in your next body--but not, y'know....him.

Did I turn out well? Some of my regenerations were a little [he makes a face]

Oh, yeah. Took a bit of getting used to.

[Grins] Better ears, anyway.

[Laughs] Not really, no.

[pretty much giving her this look]

[Pretty much giggling like a crazy person]

[gosh, now he's all mock offended]

[Is definitely still laughing, though]

[at which point he is distracted by the arrival of certain unsavory characters and gets all serious]

[Notices the serious tone and sobers up right away]
