[Hei and Misaki are at the bar, because apparently that the Place To Be for disfunctional couples. But they aren't hanging all over each other, flirting, kissing, or talking about the kids. They are sitting as far apart as possible while still remaining in the same space. Misaki sits in a booth, flushed, staring into space. Hei is at the bar facing the opposite direction, drink in hand. Bandaged hand; he appears to have torn it up rather badly.

'S fine.

[Gives Hei a look] What did you do to it?

[Idly,] Might have put it through a wall.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Holds his hand out expectantly] Let me see.

It's fine. Really.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Sighs] Then I don't suppose you wish to talk about it?

[contract_star]

No. [Drains his glass. It's whiskey of some kind; he didn't check the label.]

[lamb_of_gold]

[Glances at a nearby open bottle and refills Hei's glass with it]

Thank you. [Winces a little as he lifts the glass with his bandaged hand.]

[lamb_of_gold]

Thank you, by the way, for tolerating me these last weeks.

[contract_star]

[Hei looks over fully at Mu for the first time and stares at him for a moment, rather blearily.]

Same.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Puts a hand on Hei's shoulder]

[contract_star]

[The gesture is almost enough to break him, but not quite. Hei looks away, muscles tensing.]

[lamb_of_gold]

Is there anything I can do?

[contract_star]

...No.

[Long pause.]

...You can't be doing too well, either.

[lamb_of_gold]

It is something I've dealt with before and will do so again.

[contract_star]

Hm. [Drinks about half of his glass.]

[lamb_of_gold]

Pace yourself with that - I cannot help alcohol poisoning.

[contract_star]

'll be alright.

[lamb_of_gold]

You say now. [But fills his glass anyways]
