[Ray is on the plane, looking his usual pleasant self. what is he doing, you might ask? ...he's removing the stitches from his face. so he's pretty much sitting at a table, with a mirror, snipping the threads and ripping them out one handed, since he still has an arm in a sling]

[he growls (in a way), and yanks out another stitch, wincing a bit as it catches] Shit.

[Ray just rolls his eyes and continues with removing stitches] Don't like the replacements. T'ain't the same. [he tosses the thread on the table] Been questioned once or twice. They thought it were right suspicious, me turnin' up all beat to shit after you lot disappeared.

Have they at least been getting cases done?

[gotitwrong]

[Ray pulls on a grin and a sarcastic tone] No, Boss, they just been sittin' 'round twiddlin' their thumbs.

[didorothy]

[folds his arms]

Carling.

[gotitwrong]

[he pulls out another stitch] 'course they been gettin' cases done.

[didorothy]

[rubs the bridge of his nose] And Chris puts up with you why, again?

Don't answer. Get me copies of the case files. I want to know what's going on.

[gotitwrong]

Alright, Boss. I'll see what I can do. [he pauses for a moment to adjust the sling] Anythin' in particular you want, or just all the files since you 'disappeared'?

[didorothy]

Whatever you can manage. And don't take that as an invitation not to do anything at all. The Guv will want to keep up on these cases, too. When the mergers happen... some times the cases don't all carry over. If we're lucky, we can prevent a few crimes with this.

[gotitwrong]

[he nods] You want me to tell Chris when I see him? [a pause] 'less you already done it, Boss...?

[didorothy]

I have. [frowns; he's worried about Chris far more than he's worried about Ray]

[gotitwrong]

[another stitch] Makes my job either then, eh?

[didorothy]

I think we're done here, then.

[his eyes flicker to the stitches, and he hesitates, then offers]

Do you want help?

[gotitwrong]

[Ray smirks at Sam] I don't need your help, Boss.

[didorothy]

I would never suggest it, Sergeant.

[and Sam vanishes off the Plane]
