[Tosh and Ianto appear on the Plane, both looking a little worn out by the days events.]

Well, that wasn't quite the return I'd anticipated...

Really? You mean you didn't expect Jack to suddenly appear and shoot a blowfish in the head?

I wasn't talking about the blowfish.

All right, so you didn't expect one of Jack's exes to come out of the rift and lure us out of the Hub by planting fake bombs, nearly kill Gwen by kissing her with paralysing lip balm, only to discover that he'd been set up by some woman he'd slept with, almost get Gwen killed again, and then stroll right back out of our lives and inadvertently force us to relive an entire day? Because that...sort of sounds like a typical day of work, Ianto. Well, except for the bit with Jack's ex.

We don't usually have to relive entire days either.

True. Okay, not quite a typical day at work.

Well, hopefully we won't have to deal with any of Jack's exes again. Things were actually pretty quiet until he showed up.

[a little dryly] Yeah, it was just a normal night with alien blowfish driving sports cars. [pause] God, it's so depressing what we consider uneventful now. Oh, the world hasn't been taken over by psychopaths, perfectly quiet day today. [sigh]

[Ianto smiles wryly to himself, before glancing back over at her.] At least we have the day off now? We won't even have to worry about being called in.

Good point. Got any plans?

Jack wanted to go on a date a some point. Not sure if he meant tonight, though. I might see if he wants to catch up, or something. You?

[Tosh looks a little shifty, because she leads the lamest life ever] ...working on getting my gnome up to level 70. Don't you dare laugh, Ianto Jones.

[Perfectly straight faced, thank you. :|] Wouldn't dream of it, Tosh.

Humans use words to rationalise concepts we can't quite grasp. Like, say, when someone sets off an avalanche, nearly killing me and succeeding in killing my friends.
