Well...this is odd, indeed. It would appear I've been caught within a temporal loop of some kind, though I cannot find a source. Nor was there any such phenomenon on the planet we'd landed on. I see no possible way for this place to exist, let alone with me inside it. It warrants further investigation.

[disappears off the Astral Plane easily, returning shortly thereafter]

Strange. The Doctor is unable to view this anomaly with me. Nor can Charlotte. It is as though it does not exist outside my own perceptions, but that is impossible. Isn't it?

[makes a face]

Oh, bugger all.

[pffffft damn it Master] That's not, erm, look, there's Romana, too, but it's likely most of us are gone, yes.

Romana? [lifts an eyebrow] Oh, having the Madame President alive fills me with such joy, Doctor. Much the same as when she drilled holes in me. Or perhaps that time she killed me, you remember that, don't you?

[have a nasty look, Master] The Doctor does not love you.

Why don't you ask him if he does? [stiiiill with his arm over the Doctor's shoulder, yup! For great evil!]

[runs a hand through his hair] Yes, well, I do. Still cross over it...but yes, that's all that's left. At least a majority is gone. I can't sense them anymore, so...

[stares at the Doctor with something akin to disdain] Is it true, then? You've chosen this madman as your companion? For all he's done to us in the past, to me, you would do this? [narrows her eyes] For all I know, your own stupidity is keeping you from sensing them, you foolish man.

[shrugs off the Master and glares at him] No, he's not...he's not a companion, no. I told you, I'm watching him. I'm not letting him hurt you, I promise. And trust me, I've been trying so hard to sense them...

When you're not busy sulking in a corner.

[scoffs] As if I need your protection, Doctor. I can handle a sycophant such as him easily enough on my own. [tone softens] I'm sorry, Doctor. I'm sure that you have. I'm sure they simply scattered to the far corners of the universe to preserve themselves, and will eventually return to where you can feel them.

As for you. [glares at the Master] Haven't you learned that insects are to neither be seen nor heard?

[nods slightly] Maybe... [rather obviously doesn't believe it] I suppose I have to keep hoping anyway. Well! It's possible, if there's not many and they're scattered...

[pouts, cause he totally doesn't think she can handle the Master] There is no maybe, Doctor. I can and will, should it come to it. [taps her chin] Did you try sending out a homing beacon or anything?

Yes. I tried scans - we tried scans - and beacons and signals and frequencies and everything else I could think of.

You don't suppose they aren't responding because they fear us? No one should be able to survive looking into the heart of a TARDIS, but you've done so twice, Doctor. Perhaps they consider you an anomaly to be ignored?

They could at least send a, "sorry, don't like you, we're fine anyway, thanks." letter.

[smiles kindly, amused by the Doctor, as always, and touches his arm] You shall have to tell them that when they come about, then.

[smiles at her] I will. Might even tell them how cross I am with them. But they probably know that.

[laughs] You do that, Doctor, for the both of us.

I will, old girl [smiles] And we'll have to get a meeting between you and my TARDIS.

I should like that very much, Doctor.

Then I'll certainly work on it and tell you all about you. [~~pets~~pats her fondly]
