Look-- I really thought you were Jack when you woke up. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or anything.

['Jack' nods a little, fixing the shirt once it's buttoned up. Some may feel the need to get a camera to take a picture, because he's actually blushing about something.] I-it's okay.

[Ianto runs a hand through his hair, looking more than a little awkward.] We should probably see if he's here before anyone else has the chance to talk to him...

[The awkward is definitely shared with 'Jack', who avoids looking at Ianto for now.] Mm... Hopefully, he came here as soon as he realized what happened.

We can only go as far back as someone's lifetime.. so we're actually pretty limited. But... I only do it out of necessity anyway.

It does not matter. Any interference and you could rip the fabric of Time apart. You are all fools. This is why humans should never be given leave to travel through time.

That does not even make any sense. If time has been altered, humans cannot retain a memory of events that did not occur.

... It's hard to explain if you haven't seen it, I suppose. But unless the time is completely destroyed, the memories will restore it before they're forgotten or altered.

The only way that is possible is for them to be stored or trapped within a paradox. Once the paradox is removed, the altered time line returns to its rightful place and memories are restored. It cannot be done otherwise.
