[Ianto is currently out cold, but slowly showing signs of coming round.  He's not exactly in his best state; his nose is shattered, and he has a stab wound in his chest.

For once?  This has absolutely nothing to do with the Master.]

[Ianto knows what to expect, and barely flinches at the sting. He just sits, waiting for Jack to finish.]

[Jack finishes cleaning the wound and puts the cloth down. He pulls out one of the bigger bandages and tapes it in place, making sure to cover the whole wound. He's about to close the First-Aide Kit when he reaches for something, a small, blue-tinted bag. He snaps it in half, activating the chemicals for the ice pack, handing it to Ianto] For your nose. I don't have any painkillers on hand, but I can get a couple if you need them.

[He places the icepack on his nose, shaking his head as he begins to button up his shirt with his free hand.] Don't worry about it. I'll be fine.

[Jack doesn't say anything, but he nudges Ianto's hand out of the way, doing the buttons himself quickly, then adjusting his tie]

[Ianto looks at him for a moment before giving him a grateful smile from behind his hand.]

[Jack doesn't seem to notice, though he does sit back down as he pushes the First-Aide Kit to the side, tugging Ianto back against him]

[Ianto relaxes back against him, resting his free hand on Jack's thigh.]

[Jack wraps his arm around Ianto's waist, a thumb stroking his stomach as he rests his head on his shoulder]

[He glances back at Jack, slightly uncertain.] Would you have been angry if I had shot her?

[He seems to think about it for a moment, then shakes his head] It would've been self-defense; you got stabbed and your nose broken just as things stood. I care about Misaki, but...[he doesn't finish the sentence, just lets his words linger]

[He lets out a short laugh, pulling back the icepack to press his fingers to his nose experimentally.] She said you wouldn't like it. Said you wouldn't be happy if I hurt your favourite toy.

[He looks a bit annoyed at this] I don't have 'toys'....

[Jack hesitates a moment, because there's something he's been meaning to ask Ianto for a while, but figures now is as good a time as any] Ianto...why do you trust me?

Lots of reasons... I've known you a while. Somewhere along the line I started to trust you.

First time I took you out on the field I almost got you killed, I killed Suzie despite her having once been a part of the team, and then I disappeared only a few months later. That doesn't exacly scream 'trust-worthy' for your end.

[Gives him an 'Its not the same' look] You place more trust in me than anyone has in a long time, more than you probably should. By my count, I haven't given you anywhere near enough reasons for you to.

Maybe I do trust you more than I should, but I can't really help who I trust, can I?
