[a large, blue police box appears on the Plane, surrounded by piles of broken and burned debris, the remnants of what appears to have been part of a city square. snow is piled against the sides of the box -- soft and impossibly white, created through atmospheric excitation. copious amounts of rain water drip down the sides of the box, which looks to have been in the center of a rather terrifying and unnatural type of weather disaster.

the box itself exudes anger and pain and sorrow, a low, jarring hum vibrating the air around it. it just LOOKS gloomy.

it might be a good idea for any and all Doctors (except Eight, Eight's okay) to keep a wide berth, because this particular police box is having a rather bad time of it. approach with care]

But let's see, if you're troubled, then it's only fair that I tell you one of mine, right? It's been a while since we've seen each other, so to start off, Ikki, Hei, and Akito came to live with me, you know? But just recently, the other day, Hei said he was going to leave.

{Airily} I don't think that's quite as bad as yours, but it's still troubling enough.

I do not understand. Why is his leaving upsetting? He is just a human. They are plentiful. You can replace him if that is your desire.

Oh, that would be because Hei is special. He may be human, but we understand each other pretty well. I couldn't just replace a person like Hei, since they're...well, I've never met a murderer with such a kind heart before. Electricity and all.

{She nods} He's leaving because he wants Ikki and I to be safe, but...I guess it's selfish, but I don't really care about being safe as much as being happy.

I ... suppose I can understand. I want happiness, as well.

{Diva frowns slightly, but takes a few steps closer towards the TARDIS's projection} There are a lot of things that are worse that could have happened, right? You're still alive, and it's not like the Doctor hates you. I don't think that'd be possible.

[retreats back an equal number of steps, unwilling to be near her]

The Master could have killed me and he could have allowed it, I suppose. He believed me to hate him, believed me capable of such a thing. That is enough.

{Thoughtfully} But he didn't, did he?
