[Here she is, apparently having escaped the whole Halloween Thing. She's in the woods this time, at the stream, trying to do a few simple moves--and not doing particularly well. Even her good ole Water Whip is limp. It twists, writhes, and splashes back into the stream.

Katara stares at the water for a moment, then lets out a furious yell and thrusts down and out; the stream crackles and a section of it freezes over in and instant. She sits down, tucks her knees against her chest and rests her head on them, watching the flow of the water slowly melt her ice away again.]

[raises his eyebrows, smiling] Yes, I am. Have you heard of me?

[Leans back and props herself up on her arms.]

I met you. He mentioned, about the.... regenerations? thing. I have a friend who-- [pause. She looks away. Katara is so very transparent.] I have a friend, named Aang, who's sort of like that. He remembers all of his past lives.

Ah, yes. It's still a bit strange, having others wandering about.

[his expression grows pensive, and he offers a slow nod] It's not quite the same, but... Do tell me if I'm being nosy, but is your friend all right?

Oh? That's good, then. You'll have a place to rest, or talk...or train, without losing time.

[At 'train' she twitches, and with a trace of bitterness:] Yeah.

[his brow furrows] Did I say something wrong?

[A moment of silence, then,] You're a... a time-traveler, right? Have you ever met anyone from your future?

On occasion. It's...not recommended.

Yeah. [A little smile that's more sad than anything.] We... there's this invasion in a few weeks. We're going to try and stop the Fire Nation, end the war. We--it's going to fail.

[his eyes widen] I see.

[he shakes his head] He oughtn't have told you.

[Shakes her head.] Maybe not, but how was he supposed to know? He didn't even tell me, really. He just said that it was after the invasion, and that Sokka and-- [pause. She fists her hands in the grass] That my brother rescued my dad and Suki from prison. I sort of figured it out myself.
