[Cy appears on the plane in a huddle, muttering to herself. She looks ill. Everything about her seems dull, like someone took an eraser to a sketch of a gray cat and couldn't scrub the image away.]

I don't like this. I don't like this, ladies and gents.

[She sneezes, and there's a flash of light around her. She curls into a ball and starts shivering.]

Who do you think, Sam? [The whisper is a bit louder now] It's not fair, you know, you coming here without me. Is that the way you treat your friends?

...You do come here with me, Cy. You've been here almost as long as I have.

My my, bye-bye, Cy. [And then Cy's own voice is the whisper, the background, and the child's drips out in its place.] Do you like her more than me, Sam? I think I will be sad if you say yes.

...No. [not in answer to the question, certainly] Cy, stop that. Stop that right now.

Oh, that's not very nice. You hurt my feelings, Sam.

Cy, stop it.

She went away for now, so I can play for now. [She starts purring, and it sounds almost metallic, or like the whine of a test card screen.]

[setting cat down now, thanks]

Cy, stop.

There's no stopping it, Sam. I've been looking for a way to you all this time, and I finally found one. I can be here with you now. Aren't you glad?

No! Go away!

Oh Sam, do I still make you frown? Even now, without my clown?

[didorothy]

I'm not scared of you. Go away!

[A little mew, and then with the echo of Cy's voice:] Nancylocks, I don't like it in here.

[didorothy]

[Sam latches onto that, kneeling down beside her] Do you know what's happening to you?

They cracked the valves wide open. I'm adrift and drowning.

How can I help?

[And the TCG returns] You can't help her, Sam.

[didorothy]

[pulls back]

Yes, I can. I'm not scared of you.

What are you going to do for her? Tuck her into bed, put wires in her head?

[didorothy]

Sounds more like what her Alchemist would do, so no.

Hey, Cy. Do you remember when we first met? I think it was then that I made the mistake of teaching you the word 'bosh.'

[There is a brief, irritated expression, the hint of another voice, saying something different, drowned under the Test Card Girl's own.] He did such terrible things to her, Sam.

[trying to focus on the second voice]

You said it was your favourite word, didn't you? Or at least you acted like it was. Pretty sure you attacked my leg shouting 'bosh' at least once.

[Stands up, bracing her paws against the plane. Slightly louder:] Such terrible things. He took her from the small, warm place that smelled like home, to the cold, white table and the lights that burned her eyes.

[stubbornly addressing Cy]

Great, we were both in hospital. And it looks like both of our doctors could do with a bit of a boshing from Gene Hunt at that.
