[Cy appears on the plane in a huddle, muttering to herself. She looks ill. Everything about her seems dull, like someone took an eraser to a sketch of a gray cat and couldn't scrub the image away.]

I don't like this. I don't like this, ladies and gents.

[She sneezes, and there's a flash of light around her. She curls into a ball and starts shivering.]

I didn't. I swear I didn't. [The distress sets in. He knows this is Cy, and he knows her telepathy is on the fritz, but it's Wyatt's voice, and Wyatt's words and he always knows where to apply the pressure.] I was just fixing it — making it the way it's supposed to be.

[Laughs, sounding completely human, even from a feline mouth.] Supposed to be. Supposed to be. And how do you know what it's supposed to be, what the world is supposed to be, little brother? Might. Makes. Right. The one thing I could never seem to teach you.

[Cy shakes her head and starts pawing at her ears, and it's her voice again, though it sounds distant and tinny] Wrong wrong wrong.

[ghostlighter]

[Chris sits there for a moment, staring at nothing in anguish.] You aren't supposed to be like this! You were supposed to— [He snaps out of it. This isn't real. That time line vanished. It couldn't possibly be Wyatt... and it's not.]

Very... wrong.

[She sneezes again, and the light flames around her.] I've got porcelain dust all over.

[ghostlighter]

[Just... doesn't say anything for a moment, lowering his chin to his chest.] ... right.

[Staggers toward him, mewing.] It's hot day in hell and I'm freezing, Chris.

[ghostlighter]

[Watches her carefully, then reaches his hand out for her to rub against.] You're sick.

[Half-falls against his hand.] We're all sick here.

[ghostlighter]

[Just scritches her like that.] What?

It's always gyrating, it's one big kaleidoscope that no one sees, just the colors turning and they think that's all there is.

I really don't understand...

[Still in Cy's voice, though harsh and unforgiving--] You never did. Why should that change?

[Chris flinches and pulls his hand back, frowning.]

[Flop.] I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's all in the air...

[ghostlighter]

I should... I should go. Then it won't be as bad. For either of us.

[ghostlighter]

No. I'm not running away.

[Chuckle, again with the tinny echo.] You always were slow. Anything's possible here, Chris. Just think of the power those two must have.

If were really you, why would they bring you back through a psychic cat? This isn't happening.

Means to an end. This is one step on the way to a full recovery. Spirit's the easy part. A body, that's the trick. I'll be all better, and then you'll see everything you worked for destroyed.

[Cy totters and collapses.]

[Chris reluctantly reaches out to steady her and keep her from hurting herself, but then pulls his hand back. More to himself than anything—]

No. We stopped Gideon. You can't come back.
