038: I'm In the Kitchen, Boiling Society

[Hei appears on the Plane, with an expression like he's looking for something. He looks a bit different today. He's wearing quite a few layers, unlike last time--Diva's mansion is still warm, but in Tokyo winter is starting. And you might notice that Hei is starting to grow his hair out.]

[He's also carrying a generator, which he sets down near the Astral Kitchen. He then raids the kitchen, opening cupboards and the refrigerator. Eventually he stands up and shakes his head.]

Not here...where did I leave them?

Has anyone seen a bag of leeks?

They're long and white at one end with long green leaves. They're a bit like onions.

[Grin] The ones around now aren't what I'm used to working with, but they're interesting, at least--can't say the Fire Nation has gross plant life.

[Her expression darkens a little.] Yeah... There was a village we went through a little while ago that barely had anything to eat, though. Everything they had got taken to the factory upriver--and the factory poisoned the water and killed off the fish.

[Quietly] Sorry. [Clears her throat] We helped them, though. Destroyed the factory and cleaned up the river. But it'll be a while before they've got everything they need again.

The people in that village... the kids... they hadn't done anything wrong. They just... lived there.

[Blinks and doesn't answer right away because wow, he just told a near-stranger about his sister. This honesty thing is confusing and weird.]
