four ☆ the world on his shoulders

[Yuuto shows up on the beach looking a little dirty, but he's fine otherwise. His jacket is unzipped and the shirt he's wearing shows the outlines of a leather harness and weights beneath. He pauses to strip off his shoes so that he can jump around on the sand.

Finally, he's ready. His knuckles whiten around his quarterstaff, which has somehow managed to survive all this time (also despite getting owned by the rogue Imagin a few weeks ago). He practices a few defensive stances, then one of the attacking ones he's been taught. He goes on to attempt a few he's seen... er... felt Urataros using for some time, then steps back and leans on his staff. He needs... more. This isn't enough.

It's worth a shot.]

Aniki?

[ooc: Feel free to bother/stalk/whatever. They just got a canonbump, and Ryotarou is officially out of cards, so Yuuto has to pick up the slack now.]

[Blocks, twists away and tries for a whack on his collarbone.]

[He tries to block, but he's too late; he had to mess up sometime. Yuuto cries out and drops his staff. D:]

[Annnd waits]

[Sorry, Aniki, he's not used to this. He glares momentarily and resumes the ready position.]

[She's still proud of him. But now she's kicking it up a notch, swinging at his side almost three times as fast.]

[Yuuto blocks it, much to his own surprise. He stares at Aniki with wide eyes, then tries to force her staff away and strike at her ankle.]

[Smothers a grin and blocks, whipping another blow at his collarbone.]

[Yuuto catches this one too, but he's too amazed that he did it to jump into the flow of things.]

[That's okay! Maybe another jab aimed at his stomach will help.]

[Ack. Yuuto sweeps that one aside and tries to tag Aniki's ankle.]

[He does tag it, at least! Good job, Yuuto! She's starting to smile openly now, which may or may not be unnerving.]

[Eep. It IS unnerving. He resumes ready position and waits.]

[Jabs at his throat before sweeping at his legs.]

[He blocks the first one, but the second swipe gets him, and he falls.] Dammit!

[Offers him a hand up] Good. Let's go again.

[takes it, and gets up] ... Alright. [He's getting tired but like hell he'll complain.]

[Ready stance. She's waiting.]

[He pauses, ready stance... then swings at her head.]

[Sweeps the blow aside and carries the momentum of it on in a strike at his legs.]

[He leaps back just in time, then jabs at her stomach.]

[Twists to one side, but he catches her hip with bruising force. She grunts and strikes at his arm.]

[She actually gets him that time, but he holds onto his staff and defends like it's his life on the line.]

[Tests his defenses with growing approval, finally connecting with his staff and nodding once.]

Well done, laddie.

We're done...? [He watches her carefully. Never mind that he's shocked he got a compliment.]

[Leans on her staff, a vague smile twitching at her lips.] Much longer would only exhaust you, wouldn't it? As it is you've still got enough life left for drills.
