[Firo falls onto the plane, bleeding from a dozen cuts and... not healing? No, scratch that, he's healing very, very slowly. His leg is the color of granite, and so is the hand clutching it, which seems to be locked in place. His hat tumbles off as he hits the ground on his side and lays there, coughing and gasping.]

An--nng. [Just lets himself lay there. He hasn't hurt this much for this long in quite a while.]

It was a basilisk, wasn't it? Goddess... [ She's digging through her Italian purse now, pulling out stardust herbs. She attempts to get him to sit up and rest against her. ] Here, you need to eat these, Firo, or you're going to completely turn to stone.

[Lets her move him, because shit he's tired, and takes the herbs limply with one hand] Basilisk? Might've been. There were a bunch of them.

[ While he works with the herbs, she's taking out her poto oil (yes, she always has some :|) and is smoothing it on every wound she can find. ] They'll do that, swarm you...

Has it really gotten that bad in your world?

S' why I haven't been here. [His eyes are dark, furious, his gentleness pretty much buried under the constant animal warfare of the past few weeks.]

[ The guilt feels like an actual physical weight that just got dropped on her shoulders. ]

I'm sorry.

What? Why? [He is a boy, Angela. Boys are stupid.]

It's my fault they're there, attacking you and your friends.

No. [Grabs her shoulders with both hands... and realizes hey, that one's not stuck to his leg any more.] Don't think that, don't talk like that, don't ever. Get me, Angie? This isn't your fault. At all.

[ She has to blink at that. Well, at least the herbs are working! ]

But it's true. Those monsters should be in my world.

[He shakes his head] There's no such thing as 'should' and 'shouldn't' any more. Who knows, the Twins might've decided to turn them loose all over all on their own at some point. I'd rather have you along with them then them and nothing else.

[ She watches him for a few moments, green eyes searching his. ] Take me back with you. I want to at least help.

[He's considering it. He really is. He doesn't want to put her in danger, and her swooping in to New York city armed with magic and a strange-as-hell (for them, at least) appearance would be dangerous in more ways than one.]

[He's read enough sci-fi to know how these things work.]

You really think they'd mess with me once they've seen me when I'm serious? [ Little smirk. ]

I'll borrow Koren's cloak. I can cover my face with the hood.

Yeah, Angie. I think they would. [He looks away, thinking about what everyone's said about coming war, about... well. His future.] ...hey, I can feel my toes.

Then we won't let them. It's not like I'm going there to stay.

[ Angela'll be rubbing his once petrified hand between hers now. ] I'll show up, blow up enough monsters to get you guys out of trouble, and make tracks. All right?

[Pulls his hand from between hers and touches her cheek.] Our hero, huh?

A woman's supposed to protect the people she lllll-- [ Whoa whoa whoa. Bad tongue. ] cares about.

[And that makes him put his hand on her cheek and kiss her. Sitting up to do it, because he's starting to heal a bit faster now that he's got the herbs in his system.]

[ Wow, Firo kissing her in public is something she didn't expect. Thus the caught-off-guard, flustered little blush. ]

Hey, stay still. You're still healing. [ That smile on her face doesn't exactly make her scolding that convincing. ]

[Little smile. The past few weeks have kind of driven home that whole live-like-a-mortal thing, and in his mind that includes kissing when he feels like it.] I'll keep.
