[ She smiles and tucks a piece of hair behind one ear. ] It's a little different. I'm not used to this stuff. [ She pinches at the leg of her jeans. ] It's comfortable, though. Is this really how girls dress in your world?

[He's chuckling] I suppose it is. It's been her a long time and has had time to grow.

How do places get this big? [ Still in awe. ] You grew up here?

It is. Everything in Fa'Diel is so... tiny compared to here.

[ She watches a couple speed by on a motorcycle. ] It's... definitely different.

Well you said your city had to be heated by magic, right? Maybe it was easier to just keep everything together and not let things sprawl out. [He chuckles] Shall we get started? There are a few places I want to show you...

It'd probably be very difficult to heat a city this size. There'd need to be multiple Flames...

[ She squeezes his hand with a little smile. ] Lead on.

[Smiles back and gives her hand a squeeze before he leads her over to the car he had left parked nearby, one of his men setting behind the wheel] We'll swing by my house first, since there's something I want to check on. Then I'll show you some of the more famous of Romes attractions. Here, the car's faster than walking.. [He held open the door for Angela. When his driver for the day turned to look, he stared a bit until Dino gave him a small look.]

[ Little wave to the driver as she climbs in. She's been in a car before, but this one is very different from the one Firo took her in on her first trip to New York City. She bounces a little on the plush seat with a smile. ] What kind of attractions?

[The driver still look startled. Dino sighed. He didn't normally bring home women so he should have expect this but still..] Home. [Turns to Angela.] I want you to see the coliseum I have here. I have a few other sites that I think you might find interesting, but they're mostly historical, so if you get bored with those I can take you over to some of the entertainment districts.

Is it anything like the coliseum on the-- er, you know. [ Angela has a feeling talking about the Plane would make the driver even more nervous. ] Don't forget, you have to introduce me to Romario. I have to thank him for doing such a good job with you.

A bit beat up, but pretty much the same as the coliseum there. [He appreciates her not mentioning the Plane. It would be more explaining to do.] Romario should be at the mansion, he usually takes care of things when I'm not there. [They reached the gates to his property as they talked. There was a brief pause as the car was cleared, then the car drove up the driveway and circled around to stop in front of the door. The driver got out to open the door for him, something all the men insisted on doing.] Welcome to my home Angela.

[ The security measures are a bit otherwordly-- though she supposes they'd be the same in Altena if her world had the same technology as Dino's. She climbs out of the car and looks about. ] It's a pretty good size. Just a little smaller than Navarre's fort.

[He smiled a little. It was nice having someone who was used to palaces around. This was the first time he heard someone use that term to refer to his home without trying to be insulting.] I'm glad you like it! [He lead her inside, trying ignore the stares of his men as they entered. A quick stern look made most of the guards and those few with tasks to do scurrying back to their duties.]

I just have something I want to check on then we can get going... [Before he could finish his sentence to Angela, Romario hailed him from the landing.]

Boss! There you are! [Romario's voice was even but Dino had known him long enough to realize something was wrong.]

Something wrong Romario? [Romario shook his head.]

Not really boss, but I though I should...tell..[He trailed off as he noticed Angela standing. Dino grinned slightly.]

Angela, this is Romario. Romario, Angela.

[ Angela didn't seem to mind the stares at all. A woman doesn't dress the way she normally does without getting used to stares. She had to admire the respect that Dino's men treated him with, he didn't need to say a word to get them to go back to their own business. In Altena, Angela would probably have to beat her servants and whatnot away to keep them from bothering Dino.

She smiled as Dino introduced her to Romario. ] Pleased to meet you. Dino's told me about you, and what a good job you've done taking care of him.

[Dino had to chuckle as Romario blushed and coughed a little in embarrassment]

Ah, it's just my job...[Dino decided to rescue Romario from having to think of an answer.]

What was so important you were looking for me Romario? [The older man gave Angela a look and motioned Dino to come a little closer, and lowered his voice.] Boss, the Varia were sniffing around.

What? [That was worrisome. The Varia shouldn't have anything to do with him] Why where they here? [Romario shook his head]

I don't know. When Xanxus found out you weren't here, he left. I think it has something to do with the call from the Vongola 9th. Xanxus seemed interested in what he said to you. [He sighed and looked back at Angela]

I'm sorry, I have a phone call to make. You want to stay here or come with me?

[ Pointy ears were good for something. She'd heard enough to realize whatever Dino was dealing with was serious. ] I can stay here, if you'd rather.

[ She was trying to sound cheerful, but no doubt Dino would notice she seemed a little worried. ]

[He wondered how much she had heard. He hadn't meant to worry her.] It's just a phone call...it should clear up somethings and be over quickly. But if you want to wander around the mansion you can...there's a wave pool out back you can visit.

[ She smiled a bit. ] All right, I'll try to stay out of trouble.

[ Which meant, naturally, that she'd wander around the whole house and likely cause some hijinks in the process. ]

[Dino paused not wanting to leave, but he couldn't just let a call from the Vongola go unresponded to] I'll be back in few minuets. Romario, show her around until I get back!

[ Angela watched him go, then turned her attention to Romario. ] So... Mind giving me a tour?

[Romario starts a bit] Ah, of course...[And, because the mun is being lazy and doesn't want to describe things he leads her around the mansion, pointing out the expensive paintings and other notable artifacts that the mansion has.]

[ Angela looked at everything, of course, and asked a wealth of questions that sometimes caused Romario to look at her strangely (after all, who didn't know about Da Vinci?). Once she noticed said looks, however, the conversation turned to a subject that was a little closer at hand. ] So... Have you known Dino all his life?

[ They were near the wave pool. Angela grinned to herself, imagining Dino when he'd appeared on the Plane in his wetsuit, soaked from head to toe and grinning like a kid. ]

[Romario cleared his throat, wondering who this was and why his boss was acting as he knew her.] Yes. I've been looking after him since he was born.

[Dino tried to keep the impatience out of his voice as he spoke over the phone. You did not act as if being invited to a meeting with the head of the Vongola family was anything less than a major blessing.

I'm glad he has you. [ She watched the water with a distant little smile. ] People with responsibility need others to lean on now and then. I know he cares a lot about you guys, and you care about him.

[ She couldn't help hoping her people might feel the same way about her some day, the way they felt about her mother... ] It's pretty admirable.

[Romario cracked a small smile at the young woman's words.] It's our privilege. Boss has always worked hard to improve the Family and everyone in it. We couldn't do anything less than our best for him in return.

[Dino was surprised how far they had wandered while he had been on the phone. Thankfully everyone seemed to know where she was. Or at least in what direction she was heading.] Ah, Romario, Angela! Sorry about that!

It's okay, business is business. Romario took me around the property while you were busy. He's a very good tour guide. [ She smiled and took Dino's hand, weaving her fingers with his unabashedly. ] Next time I'll have to come prepared, so you can show me how to surf.

[Dino smiled and gave her hand a squeeze] I knew I could count on him. I'd love to teach you to surf at some point, it would be fun! Ready to see the coliseum?

The Gate is back to normal--it's the Syndicate that's still in chaos. But I've found a place to stay, yes, so things are generally okay.
