[Aniki notices the heat first. It swims up from under her skin, starting, bizarrely, at the shoulders, rolling down her arms, back up and then down through her chest. She shivers, and her ears start to ring. She gives Chris a flushed, hazy look.] I hope this is what you meant by feeling a bit funny, lad. [It's getting a bit hard to sit up.]

I... actually, I'm not sure. [Not that he's about to admit that he had a miracle worker healer growing up, and afterwards most of his injuries were too large for simple medicine like aspirin to do the job so he's really never used it much. He's a bit worried by the reaction, though.] How many did you take?

I don't know. You didn't say how many I was supposed to. [Her stomach hurts, though that's just an intensifying of what she's felt for the last few days. The dizziness of the headache is back, too. Joy on joy.]

You were looking right at the bottle! I thought you were reading the instructions. [He paces a few steps, out of what looks to be just annoyance.]

[Glare. Though not a very focused one. And she'll be laying down now.] I was looking at the cracknobbed pictures on it. I assumed you'd say something if the rest was important.

How was I supposed to know? Don't you even have pills where you're from?

[Is not going to start the whole 'I'm from here' argument again.] Not like those! [She tries to take a breath around the heartbeat slowly climbing to a blacksmith's hammer in her throat. The stars look like they're melting, now, and she feels vaguely like she herself is melting into the ground.]

I think I might be needing a bit of help.

(ooc: ... Yeah. Chris accidentally enabled Aniki to poison herself. On accident. Really.)

[Muttered to himself;] Where the hell is Dad when you need him? [With a small, condescending little noise at himself when he's done. Forgetting for a moment that Leo wouldn't even be able to come to the Plane, it's Chris's own fault.]

... Right, right. [He sighs and takes a moment to run a hand over his face.] But last time she was in her world, some people tied her to a chair with a spelled rope. We can't exactly send her to a hospital in those conditions.

True. We just need to find out what sort of substance in her world has the same effect that aspirin does, and what they use to counteract that. And see if we can recreate it.

That's a good place to start. Right. [And he's calming down. He still feels guilty, but having an objective is good!]

[Thinking for a bit.] Chris, what about your world? Aniki said that willow bark has the same effect as aspirin. What does willow do in your world?

[ghostlighter]

... What? Willow? [Gives him a bit of a look, as if this should be common knowledge, before he shakes his head. It's not as though everyone else went to magic school and learned this kind of stuff for their wicca practices.] Um... It's the same. Willow is what inspired the invention of aspirin, with the only difference being the main component is slightly less acidic than the original derivative. But I don't know how to counteract it. It's medicine.

[Fires a Look right back at Chris, but he nods.] I didn't know that. That's lucky, actually. Then we can just use the remedy used on Earth.

[Glances at Aniki.] Though I don't know where we're going to get liquefied charcoal.

[Rolls his eyes at the return look, but then—]

Liquefied charcoal? Are you serious? [... that sounds so gross. And it kind of shows on his face.]

It's what they give in hospitals for people who have overdosed on various drugs. [And yeah it's rather horrifying stuff ; ;]

[... this is all a mess. fdslkn] You think if I went to the hospital, they could give me some to bring back? [Or steal with ghost powers, if it comes to that.]

No, they wouldn't. But you're a ghost--you could steal it, right?

[ghostlighter]

That... was my back-up plan, yeah. [Paces for a few more steps, then glances to Aniki, grimaces, and turns back to Hei.] Watch her? I'll be back as quickly as I can, but...

[contract_star]

[Nods.] Go.

[ghostlighter]

[He nods back... and is gone. He'll be back in about twenty minutes, AFTER MUCH SEARCHING AND RAIDING OF THE HOSPITAL.]

[contract_star]

[And Hei uses the time to make sure Aniki is comfortable and not, yanno, dead.]

[ghostlighter]

[The Griever pops back onto the Plane, liquefied charcoal in hand.] This is it, right?

[contract_star]

[Only has to glance at it, since only charcoal is that black and chunky.]

That's it. [Pauses and looks down at Aniki.] She isn't going to like this.

[ghostlighter]

Doubt it. [And he holds it out for Hei.]

[contract_star]

[Takes it wordlessly and crouches down next to Aniki.]

Alright, Aniki. I need you to drink this. It tastes awful, but you need to drink it all, okay?

It's charcoal. Come on. Plug your nose and drink it.
