Oh, yes. I find that to be perhaps the most interesting thing about this very extraordinary place; most people seem to be from different "worlds", so to speak. I, for example, am from 1899 Britain, and I would venture a guess at saying that you are from neither that time nor that place.

However, there are some that seem to be from the same worlds, or similar worlds, as others in the Astral Plane. Indeed, some appear to have previously met before arriving here for the first time.

Not yet, no. Many, including myself, are attempting to investigate, but there have been no breakthroughs as of yet. Many mysteries remain to be solved.
