[Henrietta, thanks to Hei showing her the kitchen, has decided to try and cook. She is not a very good cook. In fact, she is a very bad cook. BUT THIS DOES NOT STOP HER FROM TRYING. Currently she is standing on the counter and trying to get a particular pan out from under a bunch of other ones. Doing it carefully isn't working, so SUPERHUMAN WRENCH OF POWAH is a go.

Of course, this sends her off balance and pinwheeling backwards off the counter with pots and pans falling down around her. SHOULD YOU WISH TO BRAVE THE METAL SHOWER, FEEL FREE TO CATCH HER. Or not. :|

Also, I should have mentioned, thanks to her modifications she is substantially heavier than a normal girl of her size. |D ]

There's a portal. Anyone can go... but I've heard there's some sort of ghostly kind of static that's probably not too pleasant to listen to.

She retrieves the last of the fallen cookware and sets it on the counter.] Um. What do you do? With... with your other self? I mean when you look the other way? Do you kill people?

No, I don't. [Not any more, at least.] I just help put the ghosts back in the Ghost Zone if they're causing trouble.

[Thoughtfully] I suppose you can't kill a ghost.

[Shrugs.] Haven't really tried.

It's just never gotten that far, I guess.

If anyone found out about you, would you kill them? I mean... oh. I guess like this. I guess not with that other ghost person and his friends, but when it's like this, do you have to kill them? Me?

[Just how much does this kid think about killing people? Chris is quiet for a minute, then shakes his head.]

No. If people find out... it's not like— If people find out, I guess we just try to keep them quiet. But, you know. Ghosts. We don't usually get found out anyway.

Signore Jean says if anyone sees us during a mission, we have to kill them. Rico said she had to kill a boy she liked. I thought that was kind of sad... She did too. She apologized first, even.

[And Chris... isn't even sure what to say to that. It takes him a moment to find words, and they're not exactly what he expected them to be.]

What kind of missions do you have?

[Surprised] Mostly we shoot things.

And they need little kids for that?

Well, that's not all we do. We're stronger, and faster, and we have better hearing and eyesight than normal people. We track people down sometimes, and they use us in raids and in special ops. People don't expect us to be the shooters, so it's easier to get away.

... Again, they need little kids for that? Why can't they just... turns adults into cyborgs or whatever?

Um. I don't know. I think it doesn't work as well. And Rico is happy to be a cyborg. She couldn't move before they picked her--she was in the hospital all the time, and her parents signed her over to the Agency. She'd never been outside before, even, because she was sick.

But... she's killing people, isn't she?

Well... yes. But we all do that.

Why?

Because that's what we're for.

No. I mean, why do you kill people? Do you even know?

[Considers this] Sometimes. It doesn't really matter though, does it? We do what the Agency tells us, and obey our fratello. That's all we have to do.

But, you can't— What if someone wanted to kill you, even if you hadn't done anything wrong?

Well. I'd kill them first, or I'd die, I guess.

[ghostlighter]

[... auuugh.] But what about the people who can't defend themselves, people who don't deserve to die?
