[he growls just a bit, stepping forward and into Sam's space]

[hisses, putting a hand to his cheek -- getting backhanded is both painful and very insulting] My 'place' isn't obeying scum like you.

You seem to forget that I am the one with the advantage here, Mr. Tyler. Perhaps I should kill Mr. Hunt again - deposit his corpse in front of where you live.

[he chuckles a bit]

Then again, perhaps you're thinking these are idle threats. Do you want proof, Mr. Tyler? You'd do best trying to keep on my good side.

[the Master then promptly pats Sam on the shoulder]

Talk however you like as if the thought doesn't disturb you - I know that should I do it, you'll be a wreck. Death always tends to do that to people.

[knocks his hand away] It doesn't matter. He'll come back. I've made sure of that.

And if I kill someone else, hmmm?

Then I'll pay to bring them back. [draws his gun and points it at the Master] I won't become a killer for you. I will, however, cause incapacitating injuries to preserve public safety. If you're feeling particularly suicidal, you can opt to bleed to death from the wounds.

[and here his expression goes grim]

I can make you kill me, Mr. Tyler. I almost did it before, except that idiot in red interfered.

[he crosses his arms]

As I said last time - don't point a gun at me unless you are shooting to kill.

[and there's something of fear and recognition in his words] ...how could you make me kill you?

The right tone of voice. The right words. I can get inside your head - so to speak - and make everything seem perfectly reasonable. You'd go along with whatever I told you to do.

[his expression doesn't change, nor does he budge at all]

[after a moment, puts the gun away]

Gene Hunt isn't a killer. But you were with him when he dropped Agito from the roof.

[he sighs a bit, and drops his arms]

Indeed, I was the cause of it. I made him drop Agito with a few words. I figured he wouldn't tell a soul; the man has too much pride.

Mmm, I should have made him forget before I let him drive off. While watching the two of you unravel has been amusing, it has been quite counterintuitive to my goals.

[draws his gun again, shooting the Master in the leg]

[he yowls like an animal; and in that instant he's gone from rational thinking individual to animalistic mentality; and he's on the ground as well, hissing at Sam- shot in the bloody leg again, though unlike before with Gene, he doesn't immediately lash out. he remains still wary, fangs bared and otherwise prepared to defend himself if attacked again]

Tch. [puts his gun away, sending a scathing look to the Master before leaving the Astral Plane]
