[There's a little girl clutching the handle of an Amati violin case, staring in wide-eyed surprise at the stars. She looks about ten or so, based on her height and body language, but her face seems a little older somehow.

She's wearing patent leather shoes, high stockings, a red overcoat and leather, fleece-lined gloves. She smells of expensive perfume. Everything about her seems to say 'European high-class family'.]

Signore Jose. The stars. Where did they come from, sir? [She looks over her shoulder and freezes. Her eyes go wide, and her grip on the Amati case turns convulsive.]

S... Signore Jose?

What the— [FOR PETE'S SAKE, PHASES THROUGH THE BULLETS] — hell are you doing?!

[M-MEEP.] Y-you're an ogre! [Kicks the violin case into the air and smacks it with her arm, launching it at him like a baseball off of a major-leaguer's bat.]

[ghostlighter]

A what? I'm not— [fffffft He jumps off to the side and kicks off into the air, dodging the projectile, now getting kind of pissed off.] Look! Would you just listen to me!?

[SORRY CHRIS, she is scared of you. D: ] No! You'll... you'll put me under a spell. Or eat me!

[Ejects the cartridge, slams in a new one from under her coat and lets loose again.]

[ghostlighter]

[Ignoring the fact that he can't use spells anymore...

Griever phases again and then darts behind her, turning solid again in order to grab her arms.] Listen. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not going to eat you. If anything, I was trying to help!

[Drops the guns wrenches free, grabs his arm and hurls him over her shoulder with way, way more power than any ten year old should have.] D-don't touch me!

[ghostlighter]

[OW. Griever is stunned for just a few seconds, but then he's recovering and rolling onto one knee, ready to bolt into the air or phase again if he needs to.]

Then stop shooting!

[Has her P90 trained on him, but isn't firing. She looks sort of uncertain now.]

[ghostlighter]

[Slowly, VERY slowly, raises his hands in the universal 'I surrender' gesture.]

Just... look. I'm not trying to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you.

But... [BUT YOU LOOK LIKE A MONSTER, CHRIS.]

[GHOSTS ARE NOT MONSTERS, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.]

... I promise.

[Lowers the gun, going o.o] Ogres can't fly. Are you a fairy?

[ghostlighter]

[Laughs just a little at that, most of the tension leaving his body.] ... No. Fairies are much smaller.

[Curious now. o: ] Wh...what are you?

[ghostlighter]

A ghost.

[GUN BACK UP NOW. Though she doesn't know what good it will do. D: ] B-but, I didn't kill you!

[ghostlighter]

[And Griever tenses back up. What kind of little girl is this?] Hey. Hey, no. No, you didn't. I'm just... I wander. A lot.

[A VERY MESSED UP ONE. :| Gun lowered again. Though not as much.] Do you... are you... Um. Did someone kill you? Are you looking for them?

[ghostlighter]

[His expression clouds over a little.] ... Yeah. Someone killed me. But, no. I'm pretty sure he's dead by now.

[Gun lowered all the way.] But that's good, right?

[ghostlighter]

[Nods.] Yeah. That's good.

So... Um. If he's dead, you should be able to go where ghosts go after, right?

Well... about that. [He shrugs.] It's not that easy. I kind of got pulled away from being able to cross over. Hence, the wandering.
