[ The stars here are quite amazing. Akai has trouble tearing his eyes from them initially, but slowly instinct kicks in, and his hand moves to the hilt of the sword on his belt. The mask he wears over his face causes his voice to sound tinny, despite its depth. ]

[Lol mask. Hei puts on a confused expression.]

Ah...it's not. This is the Astral Plane. [Small smile.] It's a good thing you arrived now. Things have been rather crazy around here the past week.

Your story becomes less and less plausible. Multiple worlds? Preposterous.

I...I thought so too at first, but it's the truth. For instance, um...is there a Japan where you're from? Because that's where I am right now.

Any storyteller worth their Mist can make up a name to a land.

[He disappears and reappears a minute or so later--holding a cell phone. He smiles.] Here we go! This is a cell phone. Do you have anything like this in your world?

How did you do that?

Do...oh! Oh, sorry. We can come and go from here with just a thought. And time doesn't pass in our own worlds while we're gone. Not anymore, thankfully.

[ Untrusting glare. ]

Ah...sorry. I should have warned you first...

[ He decides to give it a try, and promptly vanishes. A few moments later, he returns, looking astonished. He quickly gathers himself then, and holds out his hand. ] Let's see this, then, your "cell phone."

There you go.

Ah, right... [Hands him the cell phone.]

[ He turns it over in his palm. ] And what does this contraption do?

[Smiles a little.] It's a device used to contact people who are far away instantly. It allows you to talk to someone who is miles and miles away in real time.

[ He flips it open and stares at it. ]

... Is that a picture of a puppy?

Ah...I guess that's one of those picture phones. Some of them are also able to take pictures. Which are like...like a painting, only instant.
