06 -Thursday's child has far to go.
[The darkness. Metal on metal, grinding in the distance. Specific, precise sounds through the shadows. The sense of something that should not be. The monster beneath the bed, behind the veil. How long until it follows? What was happening, would happen, had happened? And why were the all so complacent?
The frustration builds even as the fear is pushed down, down, down and out of sight. Helplessness is the result, and it is despised for the strength with which it attacks. She can't breathe with it. From knowing everything, to knowing nothing.
She is bereft.
And unaware of the blood now slowly trickling down her nose.]
ooc:For today Reinette will be able to channel emotions through her blood, and shedding it into physical form. She doesn't know this yet, I figure have the journey is the discovery. She will also have certain empathic abilities, and feed off others emotions. Those with the skill should be able to block her. If not, she will be able to read emotions. Please to let me know either way!

That is most convenient.

Somewhat? I presume you have had no trouble?

I am fine.

[masks are well and good till someone else's touch brings awareness that they are wet -- touches her own face, and pulls away fingertips colored with blood]

Really, I assure you that I am --
[The first wave of emotion comes. She is accustomed to understanding other's emotions and desires in a more calculating sense -- not actually feeling them. She is slightly dizzy with it.]

[Wrestles the glowstone around into a position where Reinette can take it from her.] We'll go back to my little hideaway, get you water and something to eat.

What are you doing?

Why would I wish to lay low, as you say?
no subject
no subject
Not that I am aware.

Again?

Normally I do not part with my blood so easily.
no subject
. . . Reinette?
no subject
I assure you I am fine.
[misinterprets his greeting to be over the blood -- which she is now aware of]
no subject
What happened to you?
no subject
Nothing happened.
It is nothing.
[something in the air crackles, her face is clear and the blood is gone]
no subject
Oh, that definitely wasn't nothing just now. I know nothing, and it tends to be a bit less eventful than that.
no subject
What just occurred?
no subject
The blood on your face. It was there just a moment ago, and now it's completely gone -- like it wasn't even there in the first place.
no subject
I know we refuse to listen to reason between us, but that is simply impossible.
no subject
I wouldn't say impossible -- maybe a bit improbable, sure, but it happened, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me in this dark. Do you feel the blood there now?
no subject
[finally reaches to touch her own face]
No, I do not.
[quietly, angrily]
I do not believe I like this place.
no subject
Tell me, did anything odd happen today? Anything out of the ordinary? I mean, aside from the usual, of course.
no subject
[he has the screwdriver torch again and shines it in her direction]
Are you all right?
no subject
I do not know.
[a breath]
I am sure it is nothing.
no subject
Madame?
no subject
Doctor.
no subject
no subject
Apparently not. I presume that I am bleeding again?

[lifts her fingers in an attempt to staunch the blood]

I assure you I am fine. There are some oddities yes, but I am fine.

[clearly annoyed]
When it is a variation of all I have heard through the course of the day.
