13- The product of experiments gone wrong
[A cloud of thick, green smoke appears on the Plane, dissipating almost as suddenly as it appeared. In the middle of it is Jack, his shirt unbuttoned and it's sleeves pushed up to his elbows, a gas mask in one hand. He's coughing slightly, holding a hand over his mouth as he does so] That is the last time I open a container labeled 'Mostly Harmless'
[ooc: This is an idea that can easily be attributed to my current lack of proper sleep, but it's four am and it makes sense now. The gas that surrounded Jack is basically alien truth serum, but in gas form. It won't affect any of the other people on the Plane, but it will make Jack answer any question asked truthfully, not answering lacking as an option.
Have fun!]

That really isn't the point.
no subject
It is.
no subject
It isn't. Who knows what sort of affect it could have? No matter how long it lasts.
no subject
It's a truth serum, apparently. And if it was that bad, all I would have to do is die and come back to life.
no subject
Which, of course, couldn't have devastating effects in the least. [rubs his temples] And for the record, I'd like it if you made an effort not to. I imagine it's a painful, draining process.

Not long term. And it's as simple as dying and being pulled back by whatever keeps me alive; I'll have to show you sometime. [Annoyed? Whatever gave you that idea?]
no subject
It's still...you being hurt. [deeply sad look] And no, I'd really rather you didn't.
no subject
Not the first time or the last. [And he starts to feel a little guilty at the look, but Jack is stubborn] I'm immortal; death doesn't matter to me.
no subject
[closes his eyes, for a moment] It matters to the people who care for you.
no subject
They'll learn to deal with it soon enough...[half mumbles]
no subject
his voice suddenly sharp] I am tired of dealing with it.
no subject
looks at him, then thinks better of snapping at him]I wish I could care about my own deaths Doctor, I really do.
no subject
softly] Let us do it for you, then. Be careful for us.
no subject
And if you don't know about it, who cares then?
no subject
If you don't die it won't be an issue.
no subject
Easier said than done, isn't it?
no subject
Generally, but I'm sure you can try. [raises eyebrows] Avoid going round sniffing mysterious gasses, for one thing.
no subject
We didn't know what it was.
no subject
[lips quirk] Implied by 'mysterious', yes.
no subject
There wasn't any better way to find out at the moment.
