Well, the other time I saw them, they were in Manhattan in the 1930s and trying to create human-Dalek hybrids. The Doctor tried to work with one of them, Dalek Sec, but the other three went behind their backs.

Sec wanted them to have human emotions and things, but the other three didn't like the idea - they overrode the genetics, I think, and made them more Dalek-y. But then the Doctor's DNA got thrown into the mix, too, 'cos he was on the spire of the Empire State Building when the solar flare hit, and that was enough to give them their free will back.
