[Lucy has decided to take a break from Diva's party and is hanging out on the Plane in this dress that Diva gave her. she's got a glass of wine in hand and a somewhat longing expression on her face as she looks at the stars surrounding her, humming a waltz quietly under her breath]

So what do you think of me?

I...dunno. [shoves his hands into his pockets] I worry about you.

I'm not a child, Doctor. I can take care of myself. You've nothing to worry about.

[smiles a little] So, someone's only allowed to worry about children? Can't worry about people you care about or don't want to see hurt?

[laughs, but it isn't amused] You don't care about me, Doctor. And I doubt you care much about my safety, either.

[shakes his head] I do. It might surprise you but I do. I don't want you to get hurt.

You didn't seem to care during the Year.

You didn't think so? [frowns] I figured you didn't want to talk to me. Generally, well, if you wanted me, you'd come find me. [gives a wryly smile] Not like I could come visit.

I didn't. I still don't. [looks away] I never wanted to go to you, Doctor. I simply had nowhere else to go.

[nods, looking at her] Neither did I.

[still won't look at him] It didn't mean anything, you know.

Nothing at all?

Nothing. [a long pause, then] Did you want it to?

[glances up at her] It doesn't really matter, does it? If it didn't matter to you. But it did, yeah.

I'm curious, that's all. [fiddles with her skirts and her hair] It isn't important, I just wanted to know.

[sighs; here comes honesty!] It does matter. Because you kept me company. Sometimes it even felt like we were friends. [shrugs a little] Maybe you don't believe me. But I don't want you hurt.

Well we weren't. Aren't. [looks away again] I despise you. I don't need your protection. And I certainly don't need your kindness.

[softly] I know. But think about it this way, then? The Master wants you safe. He doesn't want you to get hurt in what we're doing. And there's a very good possibility you could, so we all need to be careful.

No, no, I suppose you're right... [fists her hands in her skirts] If anything happens to him, Doctor, I... I...

[he knows it's not going to be a much appreciated gesture but he puts a gentle hand on her arm] I won't let anything happen to him. I promise.

[flinches at the touch and pulls her arm away] You will understand if I don't place much weight in your promises, Doctor.

[nods a bit, letting his hand drop to his side] But you think I want him for myself. So you should think, at least, that I won't let any harm come to him if I can help it.

...I suppose. [focuses on the 'stars,' expression blank] You will take me with you? I want to see the stars...
