[the TARDIS appears on the Plane following this conversation with Dietrich, hoping to find a way to counteract whatever it is he's done to her and warn the Doctor. she's pacing around near the beach that Ten.One brought a while back, stopping every now and again to see if anyone's around, then going back to pacing, working out elaborate equations under her breath just to keep focused]

[as with Ten, she can't actually tell him. plus, you know ... she's being forced to be mean] Is that really any concern of yours?

I would say so, yes.

You need not. I am fine, Doctor.

[softly] You're lying. [faint smile] You ought to know better.

[sets her jaw, though her eyes seem a little frustrated] Or perhaps I simply do not care how I address you.

[his brow furrows, and he steps close]

No? You always have before.

[steps back] And I was foolish to do so.

Why?

Caring for you has brought me nothing but pain, Doctor. It is a regret that I only realised that now.

[he looks hurt, guilt and pain clear on his face, but he holds his ground]

What made you realise this?

[internally, she is flailing. outwardly, she smirks] Does it matter?

Why wouldn't it?

Because you asked, and you deserve no answer. [laughs] I never knew this could be such an amusing pastime, Doctor.

[raises eyebrows] That's not very rational of you.

Or perhaps you simply do not want to hear it. I grow weary of you believing you know me.

Why wouldn't I?

Because you never listen. You have never listened to anything I have said and so cause me to suffer. Why should you know me after so many years of neglect?
