CHRISTINE CHAPEL
20 October 2010 @ 02:14 pm
[It seems like a dream instead of reality, this standing on a floor out in the middle of space. Christine is baffled, and though panic is starting to rise, she tries to calm herself and think logically. She has to get her bearings, first and foremost.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me? [And then, louder,] Hello? Anyone there?

[She turns in a circle, noting a booth not far away. As she approaches, she sees the words "Please say 'help' for information" written on a sign.]

Ok then. Help? [Immediately, she is granted with choices on how to receive this information, and being used to giving voice commands to the computers on the Enterprise, she responds by voice.]

Broderick Naismith's Introduction to the Astral Plane. [And after a moment,] Audio recording.

[Now she listens to an explanation of the Astral Plane, her brow crinkling as the explanation goes on. Unfortunately, this recording hasn't been updated to relate that she can't, at this point, get back home. Once it finishes, she takes another look around.]

Well, if it's true and I can get home, I'll go soon enough. But I want to know more about this place first. It could be important to the Federation. [Then she lets out a sigh.] Provided this really isn't a dream or a fever I have. [She shakes her head and sets off to explore.]

[Antimony, our young, teenage British school girl heroine, stands quite calmly on the Plane and well, she's used to announcing herself at nothing given her friends, so she speaks. Her words are British and Victorian clear and crisp. She's really not bothered.]

Hello. This is not what I expected a shop to contain. I have already passed by a plant which tried to tempt me to become a small meal. If that is my purpose here, I'm afraid I'll have to decline.

[A pause.] An exit would be appreciated.

[It is probably not a surprise to some that Irene Adler has, upon her arrival at the Plane, found herself in the Theatre.

Of course, while it may not be a surprise to some, it does surprise Irene.]

Is anyone here?

[Not exactly the timid type, Irene is going to do her best to make her arrival known. She speaks with a notably American accent, although some of her pronunciations reflect she has spent a fair amount of time in England. She examines her surroundings. .. Which she regrets doing, now that she's noticed one of the Wallmasters crawling across the back of the seats.]

Surely I have gone mad. I have spent much of my life in the theatre and never have I seen something so... revolting or offensive or... absurd as this. Whatever prank this is, I assure you, whomever is listening, I find it neither endearing or entertaining that you have abducted me against my will.

[Being as she is, Irene actually approaches the disembodied hand, staring down at it with disgust and – whether she'd admit it or not – fascination.]

I do insist that you direct me immediately to whomever your devilish puppeteer may be. I am due at a very important engagement tonight in London and I can assure you that those who await me will worry drastically for my safety if I am not to appear.

[The hand suddenly pops forward towards Irene, and she squeaks in unladylike surprise, backing away fast enough to watch it tumble to the floor. It bolts towards her and grasps for her skirt, and she stamps at it helplessly with her foot, shouting as she kicks it away.]

Get away you... you vermin!
