[She's shown up on the plane in the past while soaked and tied up; while naked; while spattered with other people's blood--BUT IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ANIKI FORFRYSNING? I should say not. This time she's the one bleeding. Sort of all over. She scowls and mutters to herself while trying to keep pressure on the worst of several wounds.]

I swear by Mithros, I've ruined more shirts since coming here....

[Ahhh, healing magic. This is familiar, if a bit different. She feels the blood stop flowing under her palm and gives a little sigh of relief.]

Truth, I was beginning to be worried about the blood loss. [And collapsing now.]

[At least she's healing. Willow finishes her work before carrying Aniki over to the hammock and laying her down in it. She brushes some of the blonde hair out of Aniki's face gently (with the back of her hand) before using a handkerchief to gently wipe the blood from her hands.]

[Stirs after a bit and starts to sit up, but then winces and lays back down. Healed or not getting stabbed leaves you a bit sore :| ]

I told you to stay still. [Small, wry smirk.] Just lay there a few minutes.

[Wry smile in return.] You've more than a bit of skill at this. Had to heal a lot, have you?

More than my fair share, I'm afraid. Though I do like to have the ability.

It's the one part of some mages' skill that I really envy.

How did you learn, then? Necessity of war, or...?

Not exactly war, but necessity? Definitely. I wasn't powerful right away; I could barely make a pencil levitate at first.

[Wincing a bit still but this time determined to sit up.]

That's how it starts for most mages, though. Playing with balls of colored light, making their toys move in the nursery. If a child started out with real power--well, that would be frightening.

[She's ready to help if needed.]

Agreed. Not to mention growing up with such power could lead to serious mental problems.

[Grunt of pain, but she's upright at least! And she's eying you with a mixture of understanding and curiosity, Willow.]

[And she's too busy being worried to notice.] Feeling better now, aside from soreness? I didn't miss any place, did I?

Not that I can tell, no. You did a fine job.

[And relief!] Ah, good. I know magic sometimes can have adverse affects, so I like to make sure...

[Aniki does her best to smear away some of the blood with her already-ruined shirt; there's a thin line of fresh, pink skin running diagonally over several old scars.] Looks quite tidy to me, and that was the worst one.

Don't suppose there's a closet around here with spare clothes, is there? [A light smirk.]

[She grins.] Not that I've seen.

And I doubt anything new would hold up very well when I go back.

... You fight a lot, don't you?

I'm a rusher, lass. It's my job.

[A pause, then a smile.] You remind me of my best friend.

[Raised eyebrow.] Oh?

Yeah. Her name's Buffy. She's a Slayer, also known as "The Chosen One". She's got all this strength, both mentally and physically. She's died twice, that I know of. She was the only one to have that burden for so long... But she's not alone anymore. I think that's the important thing.

Chosen? Thank all the gods named and unknown that I'm not. I don't think I'd like grand destiny overmuch. But as you said, at least she's not alone in it.

But how can she have died twice? I've been told the Twins bring the people here back if they die, but it would be a fair bet, I imagine, to say that wasn't what happened to her.

Well... One time, she wasn't meant to die, so she just came back. The second time... [She looks down.] I revived her. Which was a mistake.

[Studying you quietly again, Willow. After a bit she says,] That's the problem with power. The more you have, the less willing you are to be hurt. But things seem to have sorted themselves out--am I right?
