It's actually a bit disgusting, hearing you lot speak Gallifreyan so primitively. Like chanting off - no, that metaphor's incomprehensible without a background in high mathematics. Fine. Like writing Calculus and finding everyone else doing basic algebra.

[then he changes to Russian - less articulate, of course, but he's comfortable with the language]

This one, though, this one's a bit ironic. Look at me, the Master, the deathless, blathering on in Russian. Haven't been in ages, should probably go back and put a few more legends into the locals.

[sips from his wine, and slips back into Gallifreyan]

At least the people of the city still understand me.

What are you, by the way? I never got a chance to ask. And I'm fairly certain that vaguely sensual strangulations aren't your usual sort of thing.

[Fnarfle.] Vaguely--no! Of course not!

So what was that, then? Why did I get the pleasure of decapitating you for Great Justice?

It... [He rubs the back of his neck, looking uncomfortable.] 's complicated.

So is Gallifreyan! Perfect language to tell the story.

[Blargh. He's not sure where to start.] Well. A few months back, I... sort of got made immortal. It was an accident, but it happened to a bunch of us.

How?

Was a party. Some friends brought this drink--they didn't know what it was. Sort of... liquor of life I guess you'd call it. But most of the people there drank it.

So we suddenly end up with no small group of immortals.

Kinda funny, really.

But it doesn't explain Mr Homoerotic Mass Murderer.

[Ugh.] There's a thing... Immortals can do. [He raises his hands.] Left hand can give knowledge we've got, right hand can take knowledge from another. It can... It can absorb them too. Everything. Blood, tissue and bone. And their knowledge, too. All their memories, their whole lives.

Right after I got made immortal, I had to do that to someone. He... was immortal. Ate a lot of people. That's what they call it--eating. So I didn't just get him. I got him and everyone he killed. That's not the normal sort of load you get, I guess.

Now that's fascinating.

And those personalities overcame yours?

What's to say it won't happen again?

[He shrugs.] Started with headaches. I'd get memory flashes and wouldn't be able to see. Kept getting worse--started seeing the other people in mirrors and stuff. Then the whole thing happened... Well, you saw. But I haven't even had a headache since then.

So it just stopped?

Still get little drifts of memory from time to time, but it doesn't hurt any more.

Interesting. Any idea what triggered it?

Your guess is probably better than mine.

It could be a natural build-up, and, having dealt with it, it's expunged. It would work in cycles. It could be meddling from the Twins. It could be a side-effect of the situation we're in.

So, essentially, we have no idea on the data given.
