[seated in an ornate armchair, speaking in fluent, articulate, and rather pleasant-to-the-ears Gallifreyan]

It's actually a bit disgusting, hearing you lot speak Gallifreyan so primitively. Like chanting off - no, that metaphor's incomprehensible without a background in high mathematics. Fine. Like writing Calculus and finding everyone else doing basic algebra.

[then he changes to Russian - less articulate, of course, but he's comfortable with the language]

This one, though, this one's a bit ironic. Look at me, the Master, the deathless, blathering on in Russian. Haven't been in ages, should probably go back and put a few more legends into the locals.

[sips from his wine, and slips back into Gallifreyan]

At least the people of the city still understand me.

[Have some fluid and perfectly accented German, Master, though it's likely a bit more gentle-sounding than actual German.]

Well, I've no notion what you're saying, but I'll be the Black God's next if it doesn't sound lovely.

My dear Aniki! Not that you know what I'm saying, of course. That's German. I can't speak German. Bugger all.

Well, there's always this.

[smiles, takes her hand, and kisses it]

[She gets the gist, anyway.] No notion what any of that means. [She grins as he kisses her hand.] Still as charming as a thief at the Provost's ball, I see.

[grins back]

I could say I want to chain you up and slowly shred your skin and you'd have no idea. Fun.

[stands and holds out the wine glass to her, an offering]

[She's very intuitive, is Aniki. She accepts the wine glass with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.]

You're the sort to enjoy the benefits of others not understanding you. I'd bet my sword on it. [She takes a sip.] Truth is my dear mad master, so'm I.

[laughs; he does like her]

And ooh, Japanese. I blew up Japan, did you know that? For kicks, really. The whole thing - kaboom! [makes the exlode-y gesture with his hands]

[Crooked grin.] Hope you're not threatening to blow me up or some-such. I'm enjoying the wine. [She slips past him and takes the chair, crossing her legs.]

[grins and walks in front of the chair]

Well aren't you bold, my young lady?

[puts a hand on each arm of the chair]

Very bold, in German, no less.

[Looks up at him comfortably, the same quirked smile on her face as she takes another sip of the wine.] Propositioning me, Master? Name like that, would hope you're worth it.

Hmm... You know what? I think, not now, not yet.

Go on, shove over, it's a large enough armchair.

[is now nudging Aniki over in the universal signal for 'shove over, I wanna sit']

[She obliges, offering the wine glass back.]

[takes it and sips, then holds it loosely in his hands; she may take it when she likes]

Not quite sure what we can talk about, and conversation is really the substance of things... actions, well, not so important. I suppose we could just pretend to have a conversation. Enjoy the sound of each other's voices. It could be considered poetic.

[She does take it, sipping at it thoughtfully for a moment.] You know, that Doctor cove said you were telepathic. [She taps the Master's temple lightly with one finger.] Don't suppose it would help a situation like this?

If you mean what I think you do...

[places his hands to her temples and raises his eyebrow in request of permission - it's easier when they let you in]

[She sets the wine glass down on the plane and turns a bit so she's facing him directly.] Go on then, laddie. How does this work?

[he nods, and then he's into her mind, sinking in as deeply as he can as quickly as possible, though he's not touching any memories]

You won't understand me fully yet; experiments with the Doctor indicate you won't ever fully understand me, but you should start to get the gist of what I'm saying as I go in further.

[She gives a sharp little gasp of surprise. It's a very, very weird feeling having someone else in there.] Bit better. [Tiny smile. Her eyes are closed.] Never done something like this before.

[she should be able to feel the grin in her head]

[he settles in fairly far in, enough that she should understand most of things]

[She chuckles quietly. Then nods, slow enough that it doesn't move his fingers.] 's pretty clear. [She's surprisingly relaxed.] You do this a lot?

Often enough. I'm one of the best psionics - I was one of the best psionics in my generation. Doesn't mean anything now, of course.

Mmm, means I don't get a headache, though, yeah? Good enough for me.

[laughs] Never let the Doctor do this. He's not usually very talented at it. A bit, but not much.

[Grin] I'll keep that in mind. [Pause.] Oops.

There are countries where puns are a criminal offense, did you know that?

[She is amused.] What else does it do? This... psio-thing? Psionics.
